Had no connection since yesterday and got it working today at around 4 P.M.
Apparently pair issue as it was simply dead, the lineman did the noble thing of replacing my pair with someone else transferring my headache to the other guy who will now have to deal with ptcl ultra support. :flame:

Well, you might be able to have them port the same number on copper to a Fiber based DSL line, I say this because I was originally on copper when I moved to Phase 1, and I was assigned a 570xxxx number back in 2012, later they introduced an ONU, and I kept the same number while I upgraded to 8 Mbps.

Later however when GPON came, last August, I was allotted a 272xxxx number which is the series that all GPON based lines have.

Phase-5, Bahria Town. They made auto calls about work today and tomorrow. Internet was down for hours and came back up with ZERO Line Attenuation, so I guess we're hooked with the Fiber Cabinet now via Copper.

They will connect us to new Copper DP tomorrow hopefully, installing PTCL boxes outside homes for connecting customer premises cable with PTCL.

Download profile also upgraded to 8 Mbps.

P.S. Phone used to have some noise that was extremely annoying and could not figure out what it was. That's gone. Extremely clear now.

guys ptcl modem / router suck big time , i want to get some decent modem / router from tplink , can some one please suggest a good one which is better then the crap what ptcl is offering .

also if i do get a new one how do i configure it - i know the password and log in id the rest i dont know ..some help pls

I don't completely get your question but vdsl is dependant on the availability in your area and independent of how many connections you have.
If the local cabinet in your area has VDSL card installed by ptcl then you can apply for vdsl. I am using it on a single line (single telephone connection) and then i imagine you would be able to use it as you had been using adsl.
Between is there a specific reason for using 2 connections or is to just to increase bandwith? Because a single vdsl connection if available should be able to provide enough speed unless you are too far from your cabinet and local exchange.

Minimum speed requirement for VDSL is 8mb
You can't convert 4mb to vdsl.
Biggest advantage is that it can provide higher speed then ADSL. The max attainable rate on ADSL2+ is around 24mbps (on perfect line conditions) while on VDSL you can obtain upto 100mbps. Another benefit is that it provides better upload speed, on ADSL your max upload speed is 1mbps but on VDSL you receive roughly 1/4 upload of your download. So basically 5 mbps upload on 20 mbps download, 2 on 8mbps and so on.

EDIT: Worth mentioning that biggest disadvantage of VDSL is that you can't your phone line for anything else then internet. That means no telephone connectivity then, only internet.

You're in DHA2? No point getting VDSL here or rather getting PTCL to install a VDSL card in the MSAGs because most streets have max attainable speed of 8mbps. Better force DHA to allow/make PTCL improve their infrastructure.

Considerate of them to call you, bastards flipped my phone lines around when they were working in Phase 1 and forgot to reconnect one of them.

You'll enjoy this sudden improvement in line stats, get yourself upgraded to 12 Mbps, if you're close to the cabinet.

It's a real treat when it works, knowing that you can easily stream 1080p over your flimsy piece of crap telephone line, to be honest, my excitement after upgrading to 12 Mbps lasted about a month because I just couldn't fathom how my old ass noisy phone line could handle 12 Mbps.

Getting lots of disconnection on WiFi while using on laptop. The WiFi's Green light on Device is relentlessly ON. Have DSL installed of 4mb, and copper line i guess.

no gpon or fibre in dha 1 except sector f ---the pigs just wont listen

WiFi light on the device will always be on as the WiFi radio is active.

Just to be clear, disconnections are only happening between your laptop and the modem over WiFi, but not over a wired connection?

Exactly bro. Also, I am noticing when my system is OFF and while LAN is not active via PC, WiFi works absolutely flawless. That's strange.
Like from this morning till 3PM WiFi was disconnecting after every half-an-hour. However, at the time I am writing it's smooth and nothing is breaking the signals.

It could be settings which interrupting time to time. Well, i don't know.
