Hello everyone

I wanted to get nayatel installed since long but never had time to goto ptck exchange to disconnect my dsl but ptcl is really making it hard for me to survive so finally i am getting nayatel installed next week but the issue is upon searching nayatel on pg i saw some threads about deteriorating nayatel service saying ports blocked speed throttling and ping issues is this still going on ? Should i get it or no? Now i am confused

Exact same question. My ptcl connection slow down noticeably in the night time so I'm starting to hate it.

And if someone has some useful tips regarding how to get ptcl disconnected then do share. I'm not going to go with not paying the bill method since it creates problems down the line

just upgraded to 2 - 12mb lines , geting about 2.4mb download speeds on idm about 2.3 on torrents .so far so good - but why on speed test does it show only about 19mb where as i am geting full 12mb profile on both numbers .

Their backend has been a mess as of late, try testing at different times of the day and you'll get proper results on SpeedTest but what matters more is the speed you get for downloading because merging connections, like we do it only messes up the streaming as well as gaming experience but overall provides a much better download speed so we could care less what it shows on SpeedTest as long as we get full speed on IDM, lol. I get 2MB/s on IDM with 2x 8Mbps connections. Since I got rid of the other ones and 12Mbps started lagging after changing up the lines, I downgraded them all to 8Mbps. Might even get rid of this another one, Nayatel won't be here until Q2 2017 because of recent details they gave me about Bahria Town and their shitty NOC issues and runaround they're giving them. No word on PTCL GPON in my area either but it's been available in Phase 1 to 6 for few months now, and it's even available down the hill from my place but nothing here yet.

The Only places that have working GPON here are my street and Executive lodges. Phase 3 and Safari 3 are still getting their footpaths dug up and remaining Phases will follow when those are done.

Phase 2,4,5,6 are still stuck with copper connections.

He got that router installed shortly afterwards. This was also in July earlier this year, I'll reconfirm the area because you're the second person informing me about not entirety of those Phases have it working.

As for Phase 8, they have it working in Shaitan Chowk area, about hundred or so households are taking advantage of it. And I assume you also have GPON now, how are the pings in gaming as compared to ADSL or VDSL for that matter in the same area that you've had before?

And most importantly, did they provide fiber directly to your home? Someone did tell me their GPON isn't exactly Fiber directly to your home but I've been told otherwise from their regional manager in Islamabad, but if I think about it now that was said vaguely and not in correct terms so would like confirmation on that as to how you have it there right now.

yeah i am geting full speeds on downloads even on torrents its like 2.4mb 2.2mb and idm is same give or take -

so far so good - i opted for a 3rd 12mb line but i really dont thjink i need 36mb which will cost about 12k + so makes no sence for now

Not sure about current situation but would make sense, the pricing isn't too bad either for 12Mbps for anyone who shouldn't partake in it, though it'd be weird to already lay down all fiber and there will still be many wanting just a basic connection for phone line and Smart TV, oh well.

Thanks for confirming the FTTH thingy and letting me know about the upload speeds, I assume Nayatel has it symmetrical because I have applied for that too when it gets here as a backup solution but even with that their highest upload wouldn't go beyond 10Mbps so what's the point anyway when I'll be getting that directly from 30Mbps GPON or more on my 100Mbps connection.

I just hope Bahria would stop acting funny and let PTCL do their work, the NOC required for every other digging has been slowing down the progress of this for almost a year now, it's rather shameful really.

I wouldn't recommend changing from Interleaved to FAST with those stats. Your SNR is barely enough for an 8 Mbps connection and your attenuation is quite high as well.

Yes, I didn't think the line stats were stellar, but the attenuation is not super high, definitely in an acceptable range, and the SNR is the upstream one that is low. A guy at the exchange said he could limit the upload sync speed to 1 mbit to increase the SNR, but I told him not to, since I haven't faced a disconnection in months.


Also, they mistakenly put me on Fast path when they were upgrading my package, and it worked fine for days, until they decided to revert me back to interleaved for no reason.


So, I was thinking I'd try it with interleaving off, and if it doesn't work out, I can get it turned back on. Now if only I could get in touch with someone in PTCL who actually gives a crap.

i just complained to them for high pings on online chat and the next day my connection was changed from interleaved to fast. previously i got 210 ms ping in bo3 on eu servers and now im getting 160 to 170 ms.
