Yes you are right, I am indeed getting 900Mhz 3G. Though I have to lock to 2100Mhz to use the mobile data as 900Mhz is unusable.

At the moment Jazz 3G is giving pretty good results. Browsing/streaming is fast. DL speed reaches upto 6Mbps indoors and UL is around 2.

Jazz launched 4g here today so that means rip zte?? It was supposed to be launched in april only one area was upgraded and then they left Pakistani market after us ban. Recent messages we received could be because of network swap?? what do you guys think?

Your signal strength has gone down the gutter. It's not because of 20Mhz.

I recovered from this myself - it's been around a month or so only. It took around 2 months or so to get it fixed. In the end, all they did were refresh my IP and settings from their back-end and it got fixed.

The guys on Twitter (their front-line staff) don't know much - so tell them that pings are horrible, which affects gaming as well as voice chatting. When I told them that this issue wasn't prevalent in another SIM in the same phone and the same location, they got their heads scratching... so I would advise you to pop in another SIM in your phone in the same location (as in - if you're in a moving car, stop the car, and then test it) and then run your tests before complaining. But make sure you don't get technical in the start otherwise the agents won't be able to communicate it onwards.

The speed screenshot isn't showing.
shaheerk we all know what the little + icon means. :D
As far as I know, 4g+ mostly represents Lte advanced category 6 - 300 mbps or simply LTE-A, the same wi tribe started sometime ago in big cities..

Now does telenor really launched lte-a ? Or its just a bug in the phone.. if its really lte-a minimum speeds should be atleast 50 mbps + all the the time..

4G+ could also just mean CA between two bands, whose total spectrum doesn't exceed 20 MHz.

LTE-A is usually CA of 20 MHz and above.

Telenor may be testing CA between Band 3 and 5, but because it's still in testing, they need to iron out the issues and optimise it so that the spectrums is used as efficiently as possible and with minimal interference. Something that most Pakistani networks have issues with.

I don't have a Telenor SIM anymore and the one that my dad has is the old 3G only SIM, so I can't even test on that if it's available here or not.

Correct, unless its cat 6, their carrier aggregation and 4g+ gimmick would be mostly useless.. its high time we jump on to LTE- cat 6 bandwagon and that too alongside volte

Honestly I wouldn't even mind if we don't get 5G and just stick to using the most advanced 4G tech that's currently available but the networks here don't even want to do that, I don't really blame them either when the spectrum license fees are so ridiculously high that nobody bothers with buying more spectrum.

Planning to Port out from Ufone since the Supercard internet is unusable everywhere in Islamabad. I was planning to go for Mobilink but going through the thread has slightly changed my mind since Zong seems to be the better option. I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me which is the better network to go for in the main Islamabad area (Blue area, F and G sectors)?

Btw I'm going to use 3G since the phone I'm currently using doesn't support the Pakistani 4G spectrum.

@murtaza12 Bro would you know if using an american carrier phones make the 3g shittier than it usually is? I have never heard a good thing about Ufone's internet so it might not be the phone after all

Which thread have you been reading?!

shaheerk would know as he works in ISB.

Unfortunately all networks will disappoint you with their pathetic 3G performance.

Only heard a few complaints about Sprint and Verizon phones with 3G.
Happens on some brands, doesn't on others.
You still using that M9?

I read earlier pages of this thread and the obvious polling on the top :p Waisay which one would you suggest considering I only do light FB/insta scrolling and use SC?

Have you used the supercard 3G?

Yeahh :( Im obsessed with HTCs, owned an HTC 10 for a while before I switched back due to a broken screen and a bad battery. The U series doesnt come with a 3.5 mm jack and HTC doesnt let you use connectors either so all my earphones/headphones will go to waste. Effectively I'm stuck in limbo, I'll probably go with oneplus when the performance of m9 gets annoyingly bad, its working quite good atm considering how old it is. Only if I could give it a processor upgrade.
