Lol weirdos. I don't have roaming enabled.
On prepaid, if you enabled roaming, they'd shut off your data pipe. On postpaid, they allow data roaming. It should not have anything to do with poor signals.
Thing is - I've read up a bit online - and when Mobilink decides to fix their 4G signals, your 60Mbps speeds will go back down (because of the way how close architecture is made). In simple terms, they'll reduce the coverage size of each cell to make room for another (think of it as one bedroom - you either fit one circle, or two smaller circles with some overlap).
When you reduce the size (by reducing transmission power), you increase the interference between cells in the overlapping areas (right now, they don't have a lot of interference because they have one big circle in one room). You increase overall capacity, but there's distortion when you're away from the tower - so you may get signal, but with weaker SNR.
For those getting great speeds even on weak signals, that's cause they haven't fixed their coverage yet. When they do, the speeds will go back down (due to the interference).
Performance Issues of Cellular Networks
Enjoy your super fast speeds, folks - it's only temporary (and you can't blame the operator for this)... Unless you're getting good signal anyway, in which case, you're already near the tower or don't have any other towers nearby leading to interferences.
In mine and murtaza12 's cases, we get great speeds because the tower near our homes is gone. If that's enabled, there's going to be a frequency clash - so they'll reduce the coverage size of each cell but increase the aggregate coverage, meaning we'll begin to get signal - but it won't give stellar speeds.
And maybe this is why all networks suck in Bahria 1-6 in a number of places - the coverage is there, but so is the interference... Unless you have a good view of the tower (even then, there are some random spots with great speeds). The same can be said for Zong opposite AFIC/AWT/PC Hotel - because there are cells around that area that cover The Mall, but lots of weaker signals may help the signals, but not the speeds.
I guess I won't have regrets leaving Mobilink after all, since this is only temporary (and I've never had good signal with any network so I'm indifferent in this regard).
