It's a kind of of noob question but how much spectrum does zong uses in 4g?

What the fuck. That doesn't look like a bug, I think the EARFCN values are different.

It might be possible - I saw this on PTA's website a few days back (visit Spectrum Allocation | PTA and at the bottom of the page is the updated spectrum allocation).

I have no idea what they mean by "temporary assignment" if the spectrum is 20Mhz.

Heck, if Zong gets 20Mhz, then...

But - if it's only temporary, then why is Zong reconfiguring itself to 20Mhz?

I think both Zong and Mobilink are going to retain the additional spectrum, beyond their 10Mhz purchases (the temporary assignment, in case of Zong, and Warid's spectrum in case of Mobilink).

Mobilinks total 1800 MHz spectrum is 24.8 MHz, so they should be able to get 20 MHz LTE and use 4.8 for 2G and use 900 MHz for the remaining 2G traffic.

Lol. I don't have even a single Zong sim any more. Yeah! You have to believe it.


Since Zong have got additional temporary spectrum it is very much possible to deploye 20 MHz at some areas.

And of you ask me why and how they have got this temporary spectrum? Well frankly speaking I don't know.

My safest guess is that since PTA has issued spectrum sharing framework a year ago, and Zong is renting in 1800 MHz spectrum from some other operator. Ufone is not using its 1800 MHz spectrum so it can share it with Zong on rental basis because it needs money to spread 3G coverage in 90% Tehsil headquarters before 5 years limit which is ending within few months and ufone is far behind this target. And Zong can ask PTA for contiguous spectrum since it is available. Jazz also has spare spectrum if he is going to renew Warid spectrum but rationally speaking why Jazz would give it to Zong? Its first and only competitor.

No idea. None at all.

But Zong wouldn't use 20Mhz unless the spectrum was permanently allocated to them - why they'd expand their spectrum from 10 to 15, or 15 to 20, and then revert back makes no sense.

These were also my thoughts when I kept saying Mobilink on 15Mhz doesn't make sense if they'll retire Warid's spectrum.

Obviously for Testing purpose. They have got temporary spectrum for doing something. And if they are planning to do something they have to test it. The real question is on what grounds PTA gave them this temporary spectrum.

And 15 MHz 4G on Jazz makes perfect sense. They are following Zong's footsteps to shift 2G on 900 and making extra room for 4G. Because with time 2G subscribers will decrease and 4G subscribers will increase. Retiring Warid's spectrum makes sense after they grab full 10 MHz 4G block. All they need to do is to ask PTA to shift their own 6 MHz spectrum in line with their new 4G spectrum.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
