Logan Lucky: An entertaining heist movie by the guy who brought us Ocean's Eleven.
The setting, the characters, and their plan made for an interesting heist where I was genuinely looking forward to seeing how they would pull all of it off. I loved the approach to comedy in the movie as well. It was just...there, throughout (almost), in subtle ways while giving some laugh out moments here and there.

Daniel Craig, Adam Driver, Channing Tatum, the whole lot of them gave good-great performances. The pacing was a bit choppy, though. Some scenes could have been shortened up. If you like/love heist movies, definitely give this one a watch.

P.S The prison riot Game of Thrones moment was GOLD!, for me. XD

Bright.........................(7.5/10) watched in HD, Netflix really pumping some big money in their productions, overall movie was average and has the potential to be a franchise!!

Wind River: Wind River is a murder-mystery Drama+Thriller. And a great one at that. The film is well-directed and it combines the different elements it has (drama, action, mystery) properly.

Beautiful cinematography brings to life the cold desolate setting and from the get-go puts you in a proper place to experience the harsh tale. The area itself feels like a character, and I love it when a film is able to incorporate that properly. The soundtrack further enhances the effect (some great tracks in it) and in combination with the slow pacing, this tension is created that steadily builds and creeps up on you, and when shit gets real, you're left speechless.

On top of that, the acting is superb. Jeremy Renner probably gave the performance of his career, and what a performance it was, absolutely loved it. Gil Birmingham was amazing too and continues to amaze me. Elizabeth Olsen was great as well, and DAMN she's so pretty/cute. Pretty much everyone did a great job.

The film has social commentary in it as well woven nicely into the whole story, and it really makes you think.

Taylor Sheridan wrote and directed this film. He also wrote 'Sicario' and 'Hell or High Water', both of which are excellent films as well. And no wonder Wind River reminded me of Sicario at times, especially with how the build-up of tension and its release was handled (Maybe Taylor took notes from Denis when he was working with him on Sicario). The guy is very talented at creating these stories that feel RAW. And he himself calls these three together as 'The Frontier Trilogy'.

Anyway, a great one from 2017. And easily a must watch.

Black Panther (2018)

Too much African cultural in movie, cannot digest that......nothing special in this movie. I was hoping i would be good like Thor Ragnork but its very typical & predictable. No appealing scenes's imo 5/10

Black Panther: Nueplex

The first time i saw it i liked it. Watched it from the corner seat. Not the best of angles. Felt weird about the whole weird culture, enjoyed the action n stuff, gave it a 7/10! Loved the OST! Did not think it was worth the second time watch though but...

Went for a 2nd time to accompany a friend, got the perfect center seats and damn I loved it! The music the BEAT, the characters, the weird ass culture, the Black Panther Suit, loved it! Can't stop listening to the first two minutes of this one: Glory To Bast (Black Panther Soundtrack) - YouTube

Upped the score to 8.5/10! :D

War Dogs (2016): 'War Dogs' is a look into The Big War machine from behind the scenes, kinda like how 'The Big Short' was for The Big Finance machine.

Based on a true story, it follows two dudes who get into arms dealing and earn big quick. Jonah Hill and Miles Teller form an awesome duo. Both deliver great performances. Had no idea Ana De Armas was also in the movie, she was gorgeous AF.

When the movie is about them figuring out the deals and the business, and trying whatever they can to make it work, it's at its most enjoyable. The drama, on the other hand, doesn't hold up the same. Some of it is good, while some of it slows the movie down.

Overall, a good watch.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016): It does feel like you had a good enough time when the movie is over. But to get there, you have to sit through an uneven ride where the movie doesn't know what it wants to be and the drama+comedy is a hit and a miss. When it's a hit, the movie has a heart.

Tina Fey was great, though. And good performances from Martin Freeman and rest of the cast as well.

Mute (2018): I was really looking forward to watching this. The director has created good films before like the excellent 'Moon' and pretty good 'Source Code'.

But man was this disappointing. The cyberpunk sci-fi setting was underused and didn't really matter much. The story wasn't anything good and the way it was executed made the movie feel very disjointed with messy pacing, and since it relied on a romance that you didn't care for enough, that just made it all the more uninteresting. Now it wasn't utterly shit or horrendous, BUT it was kinda MEH.

The soundtrack by Clint Mansell was good, though. And it sucked that the movie wasn't on par with it. Some of the performances were also good, like Justin Theroux and Paul Rudd.

All in all, the experience was a bit similar to other recent Netflix movie 'Bright'. While not as bad as what the critics are making it out to be, it still wasn't anything LEGIT GOOD either. And in this case, I was looking forward to it so I just got more disappointed. Such a waste. *sigh*
