So they messed up the captures twice? Anyway.
Pixel counting has confirmed a 1440p internal resolution, much like UC4, but with somehow much worse IQ. This is representative of the game on a 4K display.
Okay, so they didn't mess up the captures this time. But I'll reserve final judgement until the game is out. As it stands, the IQ in those screens isn't impressive for native 1440p. Probably has something to do with a bad case of post-process.
Gameplay wise, I am not seeing any great new innovations. Its looking pretty same to me like last time.
Well, the original wasn't exactly reinventing the wheel with the stealth-action genre either. Naughty Dog's games are known for their unprecedented polish, which makes them better than others in the genre.
In some areas, TLoU is catching up to other stealth games. For example, being able to go prone or hold up enemies are things that have been done before in several stealth games. The quick flip during prone stance is straight out of MGSV.
On the other hand, the AI shown here is far ahead of the AI seen in other shooters. As a result, encounters are much more dynamic. New enemy types, such as dogs tracing Ellie's scent - I don't recall that being done before. The addition of a dodge button in a stealth-action game hasn't been done either IIRC. Cohesively, these are things that will drive innovation in TLoU2.
