Ironic that a game about a deadly global pandemic got delayed because of a deadly global pandemic.

The delay was expected but it seems kinda archaic to not release the game digitally on time just because not everyone would be able to play it. They could at least solve part of the problem by going digital for now and then shipping the discs later on when things are better. Anyway, this game will most likely be concomitant with PS5 release now (unless PS5 release is itself delayed) cuz Amreeka is screwed for long.

The delay was expected. Physical sales are still important in the console space.

Ghost of Tsushima is likely to get pushed further as well.

whew lads... probably the worst image quality of any 1440p (internal rendering resolution) game I've seen.

These screenshots aren't native 1440p. The previous batch of PS4 Pro screenshots from last year weren't either. Someone messed up the capture.

So they messed up the captures twice? Anyway. Pixel counting has confirmed a 1440p internal resolution, much like UC4, but with somehow much worse IQ. This is representative of the game on a 4K display.

I feel bad for TLOU2. It really looks dated to me now. I mean an year and a half of delays brought it to this state. Coming from RDR2 i think its just an OK looking game nothing spectacular about it. The only department its going to nail in is the Story which i think would be nothing short of amazing.

Character models and animations look better in TLoU2. Though, not taking anything away from RDR2. Remarkable achievement for an open world game.

Also, dat gameplay <3

Gameplay wise, I am not seeing any great new innovations. Its looking pretty same to me like last time. Although its base gameplay was pretty good and makes other similar games like Resi a joke.

The game in itself looks and plays great judging from the gameplay video. Whether it looks better than this or that game is quite irrelevant to me at least.

I don't feel like playing any game because of this game and in fact I haven't played anything in months. And now there's more wait... :/

Okay, so they didn't mess up the captures this time. But I'll reserve final judgement until the game is out. As it stands, the IQ in those screens isn't impressive for native 1440p. Probably has something to do with a bad case of post-process.

Well, the original wasn't exactly reinventing the wheel with the stealth-action genre either. Naughty Dog's games are known for their unprecedented polish, which makes them better than others in the genre.

In some areas, TLoU is catching up to other stealth games. For example, being able to go prone or hold up enemies are things that have been done before in several stealth games. The quick flip during prone stance is straight out of MGSV.

On the other hand, the AI shown here is far ahead of the AI seen in other shooters. As a result, encounters are much more dynamic. New enemy types, such as dogs tracing Ellie's scent - I don't recall that being done before. The addition of a dodge button in a stealth-action game hasn't been done either IIRC. Cohesively, these are things that will drive innovation in TLoU2.

My God do people really believe Naughty Dog actually programmed "scent"? Gives a whole new meaning to the term code smell
