Well I have a question, is it better to live on campus or off campus?? I am asking in perspective of expenditure, environment and exposure.I graduated from Canada and lived on Campus. If any one need any assistance regarding it , I would love to answer
Ahan... The only thing that is keeping me away from On-Campus accommodation is the cost associated with it. Otherwise, I too am more interested in living On-Campus.I would highly recommend On Campus. Its a life time experience... You will never forget it.. Learning a new culture is much easier and you get well integrated into the society.. Improving accent is an important aspect.. It is bit expensive than normal but still its worth it...
I paid around 700 $ for room including internet and utilities.. My other expenses were around 500-600$/month.. It depends on your spending habbits.. After I moved out o re, my expenses were reduced to 600$ for accommodation and food. If you are living off campus, you can squeeze your self in less than 500$ if you want to ...Ahan... Another thing, what is the cost living in Canada for a student? And specifically talking about the Toronto area? Thanks for your reply.

Its same for toronto
Well, It's totally depends on you and your lifestyle! I have spent nearly 4 years in UK and I never felt the way which you have described hereWell i am living in UK right now in a town called Luton in bedfordshire .
Life is a bit slow over here when you compare it with other cities like london and Manchester. one thing to take care off is that everything from Food to electronic stuff is expensive in this country , no matter what people say sitting in pakistan . it IS expensive . If u are a desi food lover like me then expect spending around 150-200+ pounds monthly IF you are buying from restaurants . Its always cheap if u cook yourself . Now as i am living in a shared apartment it only takes like 50-60 pounds MAX to buy stuff from tesco or sainsburry and then later cook at home.
If you are a gamer then this place is a total rip off for you . an original DVD game at store would cost you no less then 30-40 pounds which if u compare with a 40 DOLLAR game in USA is DAMN expensive (Conversion rates) .
Everything else is good to go . you have to get a descent part time work if you want to stay and enjoy stuff around , But again getting work is problem here for students . I was lucky enough to get work at a good position in a hotel right away . During christmas times its good to apply for work at different stores in malls . But dont expect work to be available for you , its you who have to find it .
Weather is effed up as what i expected .
My suggestion is to someone coming here is to select another place i.e USA , Australia or canada if u are lucky enough coz of their strict Visa policies now
Note : if u are a person who easily get home sick then this place isnt for you . UK is all about giving more and expecting less . you know what i mean :mushy: . Best of luck
aim for fachhochschule(FH in short). they are easy to get into. check out programs from daad.de , TUs are really tough to get into and you wont get into TUs without good CGPA. but u wont be able to do PHD if u do masters from FH.Which are least competitive German Universities for Masters in Mechanical Engineering?
Bro to be honest it's like this all over the world. I got into a number of American schools for my masters but the only thing that stopped me was the fact that I wouldn't be able to work off campus. So I decided to cone to UNSW(Australia)for my masters And as far as working part time goes, I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. I worked as a design engineer for a year and a half in Pakistan and the thing is, there was a lot of mental stress. Over Here it's mostly physical stress. The best way to go about it is to look at it as a learning experience and make friend s while on the job. I've befriended a number of customers while working so it's actually pretty good. Mind you it's not all that good as far as money is concerned but I live on a day to day basis so it somehow works outInferno is right , me myself studying in university of westminster my father works in forgein office so we 4 years tour to england. If some one is willing to come uk plz dont unless u have heavy pocket otherwise chicken chips shops pay dhakay khao, m gonna apply for british nationality let see whats happens i dont like british way of style but kya karon majboori hai , m working part time in KFC at the moment ;p
Man can u tell me the website of ur uni. Expenses and ur Programme(studying). and ways to apply thereSo since I have now spent nearly 2 months in Germany as a student...
things are settling down a lil bit.....its a great place man....simply awesome
Everyone and everything is very organised, and nearly everything is different from Pakistan....but I do really miss our food...and torrents
Quality of Life is very high....and my city is very beautiful and very maintained, one of the best places in Germany
Time Management is the key here..:wink2:
have any questions, ask away
@Joker : dude....need a ps3 and LCD
Monash over Nottingham, whut The difference in the crowd between the two universities is phenomenal, but if you say so.Any malaysian students here? Applied to Nottingham, got an offer but refused em because going to Monash instead. Whats life like in Malaysia?
Phenomenal in what sense? Yeah Monash over Nottingham because Nottingham's intake is in february which will be too early for me, and September is too late, so Monash it is, besides its worth more in Australia (job prospects in Australia are better than in the UK), they offer exchange programmes without charging extra fees (big plus). How is the crowd between the two different?Monash over Nottingham, whut The difference in the crowd between the two universities is phenomenal, but if you say so.
Life's great. You will hear the word 'la' from every Malaysian at the end of every sentence, the word has no meaning whatsoever but they say it anyway.
Everything's going to appear to be much more expensive and you'll be multiplying digits in your head before buying anything. Traffic jams are everywhere but the bus/LRT/Monorail system works amazingly well, given that you're near a station. Don't try Malaysian food, seriously. Many other delights wait there for you, if you know what I mean
Phenomenal in the sense that Nottingham's Students - and campus- are way better than that of Monash's. Monash has many Indian/Tamils that you'd refer to as 'Mailay loag' here in Pakistan. Nottingham has much less of those. Both universities are pretty good aside from that. If it fits your needs then it's perfect for you.Phenomenal in what sense? No didn't get what you mean And no not gonna be expensive, used to this sort of thing here in Saudi, its actually just as cheap/expensive. And a Ringgit is 1.2riyals so not that much difference there either.
Which university are you in, btw?
Not in favor of racism and like you said most people have a thing against Asians and try and find their own even at university which is kinda paradoxical since university is all about new experiences, I personally don't think like that, so Monash is fine for me, besides it is in KL unlike Nottingham so thats better.Phenomenal in the sense that Nottingham's Students - and campus- are way better than that of Monash's. Forget it, you're not the party type then. If you can afford it then you have nothing to worry about, you'll fit right in. Just remember to bring a raincoat to Malaysia. TRUST ME on this, not an umbrella but a RAINCOAT. It will be your best friend in this country.
You'll really enjoy meeting different kinds of people, especially coordinating in group projects. Try not to look for your own kind, instead, branch out into different kinds of people and ethnicities - you'll learn a lot more about them and yourself in the process. Most people tend to go abroad and befriend those only from their own countries.
I'm in SEGi University.
why you are paying american rates in Pakistan. Search cheaper region like Turkey. 13k for 13 months. Ms does not careShadowdragoo said:no idea how that is a steal by wasting 3500 rupees per month and for games that are removed before you can finish them off.xbox gamepass is garbage with no local prices
There are no such thing as "bad design" bro, its all "artistic vision" nowEternalBlizzard said:Is it just me or people lately seem to defend every bad game design decision made by the devs and try to give bullshit reasons for that? Or perhaps it's because I'm on reddit and discord
