Sony PlayStation 5 : Play Has No Limits

PS5 Release Date, PS5 Games, PS5 Power vs Xbox One X, PS5 Price Speculation - All the PS5 Info lets discuss

Here are all the rumors and speculation surrounding the PS5, including a potential PS5 release date, power, and launch games of Sony's inevitable PS5. Is the PS5 releasing in 2019?

What we Want From the PS5 Speculation aside, what would we ideally want from the PS5? Backwards compatibility for PS4 games would be brilliant, simply because you'd be able to carry over classics like the Shadow of the Colossus remake to the next console generation. We've seen how well Microsoft is handling backwards compatibility with its Xbox One consoles (including getting amazing results updating Xbox 360 games to run in 4K on Xbox One X), and something similar on PS5 would be great.

In terms of pure power, the PlayStation 5 has to significantly exceed the power of the Xbox One X. This means featuring more games running in 4K at 60FPS. If the PS5 can deliver about 10 TF of power we'd be happy, as this would allow devs to create games that look a generation ahead of what we've got now.

But what would the dream launch lineup be for the PS5? Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part 2 are hugely anticipated blockbuster games, with the former especially looking to push the performance of whatever system it's on to the very limit. We've also mentioned Ghost of Tsushima and a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and the latter would be the perfect way to kick off a new console cycle from Sony.

Hdmi 2.1 support is indeed a must for those looking to upgrade their TVs (emphasis on looking to upgrade). No lies there.

Same way it's a choice for those who can afford a 1500$ GPU, but ah who are we kidding really.
lmao what is this $1500 flexing? A vast majority of the money is spent on games, not hardware. $1500 is less than what some PS5 owners will spend annually on games alone. We're talking about $70 regular and $90-100 deluxe editions here.

But personally, if I would buy a PS5 then I honestly see no point in playing on an older TV unless I can take full advantage of its offerings and features.
Does the game you want to play on PS5 also take full advantage of the new TV? If the answer is no, then a 120Hz TV is good to have, but it is by no means necessary.

Despite not having a PS5 patch yet, TLoU 2 (and God of War) already support Haptic Feedback in pure BC mode. Looks like these games were designed with it in mind for future proofing.

https://www.gamesradar.com/the-last-of-us-2-ps5-supports-haptic-feedback/

A member of the GamesRadar team has tested it out and the difference is immediately apparent when compared to the PS4 version. In combat, you can feel the tension in the DualSense adaptive triggers when you draw the string back on the bow, while every shot you fire on a weapon will also result in a feeling in the controller and it feels amazing.
...
We also tested the controller with Sony Santa Monica’s God of War and it turns out the game also has enhanced DualSense feedback, especially when opening Kratos’ shield or throwing his Leviathan axe, you can feel the impact in the controller immediately.

Looks like the PS5 OS still has this trash limitation from last gen of needing exorbitant amount of space to install a game.

Astro's Playroom (~11GB) is asking for ~50GB free space to simply install the game.

Massive yikes!

My PS5 is dead.

I turned it on and went through set up, played half hour of Astro bot and installed some games (Miles, God of War, Days Gone). Then turned off the system (full off, not rest mode) and left for a few hours.

When I come back I go to turn it on via the Dualsense. Nothing. Okay, try the power button. Nothing. Maybe I've had a power trip, check the breaker, is fine. Everything else in the house is fine.

Okay, try a different power socket, nope. Try my PS4 Pro figure 8 power cord, still no.

I guess I'm taking it back to EB in the morning and going without my PS5 for a few months. Fuck. I just ordered a few more games too.

Worst thing is my Miles disc is stuck inside and there is no tutorial for manual eject, I can only find ones on PS4, so I better get my game back!

Anyone else having issues? I thought that reviewers PS5 bricking was like one in a million, so damn did I catch bad luck.

Damn the Dualsense is cool, what I got to use of it at least.

Meet the first customer to get a PS5. He was the first to get a PS4, too.

‘Patience is a virtue. This is for you.’

Framed certificate given to Joey Chiu, along with a PlayStation 5, by Sony. Inscription reads “Patience is a virtue, this is for you.”

Joey Chiu, who was first in line to buy the PlayStation 4 for its launch in 2013, and first in line to get a PS4 Pro when that launched in 2016, out-of-the-blue got a PlayStation 5 from Sony.

“Patience is a virtue, this is for you,” said the note inside the box.

Chiu’s PS4 acquisition in 2013 was one of the most fun stories in an incredibly fun year for video gaming. He just wanted to get a PS4 and somehow ended up first in line at the console’s launch event in New York that November. Andrew House, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment (as it was then known) and Jack Tretton, SCE’s U.S. boss, brought Chiu up on stage for the ceremonial First Console awarding.

House and Tretton — who five months earlier had gone to the mat for players in one of the all-time greatest E3 keynotes in the history of the galaxy — gazed with smug benevolence at the camera, as Chiu pointed at himself with mock “who, me?” surprise. After hoisting the PS4 box, Chiu busted out the Antonio Banderas reaction meme — which Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida and Naughty Dog studio memorably followed.

So yeah, with a global pandemic making such silly in-person fun impossible this time, good on Sony for still making the callback to the moment. After getting the PlayStation 5 on Tuesday, two days before its launch, Chiu tweeted the news. Sony USA followed up with a five-heart-emoji reply.

The PlayStation 5 launches tomorrow, officially. It’s been hard to find for pre-order, and Sony has said it’s only going to be available for sale through online storefronts on day one. Walmart.com will have units ready for order at four different times beginning at noon ET on Thursday.

Damn, that's a nice move on Sony's part but I bet its pissing off all the people who paid for pre orders and aren't getting them on time because of delivery fucks-ups from Amazon, BB etc lol

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
