Yup. Yup. Yup. With the following games
In list form:
Technically, I borrowed it but hey! I get to play all these games. I've always admired the PS3's lineup last gen. This also happens to be my first console since the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) bought in 1995. And I'm really digging this. My experience here shall determine whether I make the jump towards current-gen consoles or stick to upgrading my PC.
All things said, couch gaming is a hell of a lot of fun and reminds me what I was missing when I shifted base entirely to the PC.
MGS3 Spoilers!!!
With everybody busy with Phantom Pain these day, I'm plowing through Snake Eater meanwhile. Had finished MGS1 and MGS2 on the PC earlier.
[Flying over Pakistan] Loved the beginning of Snake Eater. There was one brief moment when I went, 'Woah! What's Raiden doing in Big Boss' origin story!' but it cleared up soon enough. From a gameplay aspect, this game is quite a departure from MGS1 and MGS2. The entire jungle setting with its greenish tinge was fairly unnerving at the start but thankfully I got used to it. Lack of a radar and addition of the stamina gauge etc. are a change, a not very frustrating change but understandable considering the era this game is set in. And food spoils if I keep it long enough [lolwut?]
I avoided enemy encounters as much as I could in the previous games but CQC makes everything so easy here. And why is Ocelot acting like such a wuss? There was also this bizarre moment where he deflected an angry swarm of bees by spinning his revolvers. [Whaaaat!?]
Defeated The Pain in my first attempt while having no idea how to dive underwater to escape the bees. Turned out to be a very meek boss fight. Currently heading towards the Scientific Labs in pursuit of Sokolov. Hoping the story picks up.
And thank God Para-Medic isn't as frustrating and cringe-worthy as Rose. Mei Ling was the best handler though.
