Playstation Question about Firmware

There are three ways Shan.
You can update it from internet through PS3.
You can update it from internet through PC (You'll need a flashdisk for this).
You can update it from a game disc.
Updating it from internet is fairly straight forward. I hope you know that.
Updating it from a game disc is even more straight forward. I hope you know that too.
To update it using a flash disk, you'll have to download the PS3 PUP file to your PS3. Check this post for links and details.

If you have no internet connection, then the only option you have is to spend 4000 rupees and get a game which has an updated firmware on it 
Well , if you have no internet connection , get a game , preferrable a new title and it will automatically update your current firmware ...
MGS4 had 2.3 on it and by the time of its release, v2.36 was already out.
Then again, if you're not using internet with your PS3, then there is really no need to update your FW. When you buy a game that has better FW than your PS3, it'll automatically update. Don't make it a hassle for ye.
