lol....so Sony went through all that trouble....built studios from ground up, made uncharted, GOW, last of us etc.....just for little old Blu-Ray?
No, I think Sony just made smart deals with film studios so they can accept it as a medium. Plus the 50gb disk size clearly had a lasting impact.
Let's face it, HD-DVD went no where with its 8gb-30gb max capacity. Even though Xbox 360 was the highest selling console at the time, even that didn't stop the medium from failing.

HD-DVD failed because Blu-Ray was just a better format and SONY used the PS3 to push it into the mainstream, The PS3 was the Blu ray's vanguard. He's not saying that it's the only reason why the PS3 and all it's games exist.

Please provide me some links of profits, when sony claims ps3 was a burden on sony and xbox division failed to turn up profit since its start.

and that BLURAY theory is very funny. If PS3 is just a pawn to mainstream BLURAY and now PS4 will reap its benefits, then I would like to give gold medal to every SONY EXEC to have such a small vision.

Yes there are disk based games, movies now, but give it two or three years time and you will be shocked to see most of the DISK BASED market will be shifter to Digital. Digital is the future and this is ELECTRONICS101
