Hey man, i was using multi man, but that didnt work for me.Tried gaia managaer, it works, i can even see the game in my list, but when i click launch game, it doesnt start and goes back to the xmb menu.

u actually don't launch that, u mount that. When u r returned back on xmb. Cllick on the disc icon or app_home. That will launch the game

I have a 40GB Fat PS3 (CECHH12). Going through the last 40 pages of this thread has just confused me. Can anyone please tell me which CFW is best for my PS3 ? and please also suggest a compatible backup manager to go along with it.

Welcome to the world of PS3 CFWs. You can try out the newest CFW by Waninkoko at:

It's supposed to be safe for all PS3 versions. If you're already on 3.55, you need to do it through recovery console. Do let us know how it goes.

And Gaia Manager works for me. It's simple, and it just - works, but whatever tickles your fancy.....

Okay, first of all, CFWs are not just about pirating games. Second, the actual hackers in this case was the team with the 'epic fail' presentation, I forgot their name. GeoHotz implemented their hack and used the keys they exposed. It's not that easy to get rid of hackers. I hope Sony learns a lesson from this and doesn't rip off it's customers by removing previously advertised features with new 'upgrades'. The only people who're interested in running Linux on a game console are hackers (and maybe some scientists). Sony only pissed off hackers by removing the OtherOS, and viola, a year later, the PS3's security has been ripped apart. Talk about stupidity....

finally decided to leave my comfort zone (Jailbreak with Dongle) and take a plunge in the unknown world of CFWs...

installed WANINKOKO's V2 CFW on my 120gb slim without any problems and everything seems to be working ok.. the path i followed was OFW 3.41 > OFW 3.55 (XMB) > WANINKOKO V2 (Recovery)...

RDR, MGS4, GOW Collection, F1 2010, NFS Hot Persuit and Dead Space working.. and working discless (using multiman latest version).. these are the only games i checked.. so a success rate of 100% is being reported by me

It worked!Thanks bro!And one more thing, if i want to play from some external hard disk, should that hard disk be formatted in Fat 32 format or NTFS will also work?

So is there any way to transfer games bigger than 4 gb to the external hard disk even if you have fat?

Plz anybody clear my confusion! If I install kmeaw cfw & if I don't satisfy with it then can I install other cfw & how? Also if I replaced any cfw then the managers that have installed will be also removed or replaced? And removing any manager also removes games' backups? Where exactly games r backed up in HDD?

I tried couple of other games on Wutangrza cfw plus gaia manager 2.05...Games include 1- AC Brotherhood, Ninja gaiden sigma 2 and Yakuza 3. All are running fine. So far i have tried NFS HP, Enslaved, GT5, AC Brotherhood, Yakuza3, Ninja gaiden, and all are working with a disc inserted in BD rom....

In couple of days i will try Little big planet 2, dead space 2, black ops and most possibly Mass effect 2.

For me Wutangrza cfw and gaia manager 2.05 rocks
