zong needs to be activated once you've got hold of it..
u need to call 689 to do the process of activation!!
maybe the sim has been delivered to u pretty late and the activation phase has been lagged behind
go to the franchise n get ur sim activated..no need to get tensed
ur cell is workin fine its the sim that has not been registered yet
i just registered my Father's sim 2 days back and we got the sim directly from the franchise and they told us to activate it by 9pm and we did as they said
worked like a charm!!

man it is there process it takes time when u choose number of your choice they requires some time to registerd tons of sims so when u had it it wasnt working becoz of it was in process
i have zong sim when they launched and when i got the sim they inquired me that sim will work within 2days and it worked after 2days process

I occasionally get the same problems from my ZONG connection, but they're mostly related to mobile web access. Whenever that happens, I switch off my mobile, take out the battery and the SIM and wait for some time, after which I insert it back and turn on the mobile. It nearly always works for me this way. So I recommend doing it just in case.
Yar the SIM card was for 150rs + 50rs delivery charged and 300rs balance was already loaded (for which you had to pay)
In total is was 500rs

When i switched on my cellphone with the SIM inserted, it could not search for signals :wacko:
