I contacted Fiberlink ages ago but they weren't offering services in my area at the time. My problem is that I live in a military zone (Race Course & Westridge) and going by multiple accounts, it's not easy to install anything in this area without several layers of permission. Up until a few years ago, even mobile phone companies were being given a tough time and Race Course was notorious for poor mobile and WiFi signals (part of what prompted me to go PTCL as they have an established infrastructure from their time as the national provider). I've done my research now and have concluded Nayatel is the only option. The PTCL exchange is literally 5 mins drive from my house but if I start popping in there every time there's a problem, I might as well rent a space and mattress to sleep outside the office.
Anyway, I'm gonna be sorting this out after Eid. Nayatel takes two weeks to get your net up and running. Hopefully, PTCL will get me through this period and won't have a major breakdown. Last issue took two weeks to resolve and they had to bring in Chinese ZTE engineers (I'm not even kidding) and today, due to heavy rain, internet has been disconnecting all day (another issue I often face).
Sigh.
Rant over.
