Hi guys, I need some serious help. I've been with PTCL since moving back to Pakistan but I think I've finally reached my breaking point. I'll spare you my sob stories and get right to the point: I'm a PS4 gamer (mainly play Overwatch) based in Rawalpindi. Most of the ISP suggestions I've seen don't offer services in my city. Is there ANY ISP that can rescue me from PTCL please? My requirements are:
Minimum 20mbps download (preferably unlimited)
Minimum 10mbps upload
And most importantly: A COMPANY WITH COMPETENT STAFF.

I've had people recommend Zong devices to me but I need NAT Type 2 and I've heard people complain that they can't game online on PS4 with Zong.

Help?

Where in Rawalpindi are you?

Chances are that Nayatel will be available there.

Hey, I'm in Race Course, right next to Westridge. Now that you mention it, I've definitely seen Nayatel vans around here. Are they recommended by this community?

The issue that became my breaking point with PTCL was an upload speed of 1mbps on 25mbps VDSL connection! I keep begging them to look into the issue but they don't see it as a problem at all.

Does Nayatel offer better upload speeds? I can only see download speeds on their website.

Nayatel offers symmetrical upload/download.

So if you get the 20 Mbps package, you'll get 20 upload and download.
It's FTTH so the tech allows you to have symmetrical speeds.

They have data caps during certain times of the day, but they have this Optimus gaming thing for optimised pings and their service is reliable.
Customer support is also pretty decent and the guys on the phone actually know what you're talking about.

Btw, 1 Mbps upload on VDSL is really messed up. It's supposed to be 10 Mbps up or something.

StormFiber isn't available in Rawalpindi, and TES is only available in Bahria and DHA.

So based on this, it doesn't look like I'll have issue with NAT type or anything while gaming online with Nayatel, is that correct? Honestly, I've stuck with PTCL because my dad has had a connection since the late 80s. But they're the worst when it comes to customer service.

I used to get 10mbps upload but for the past few weeks, I've been getting just 1mbps. PTCL claims it's a back end problem that magically only affects MY phone number. And because I'm the only one complaining, they keep shafting me. I've asked them to try replacing my modem but without even trying they have determined my modem is not the issue.

Wateen for online gaming? Haven't really heard that suggestion before. What's your dl/ul and ping like?

Well... you'll have to subscribe to Nayatels Optimus add-on. It allows you to have NAT Type 2 and optimised latency. However it costs 150 rs per month extra to your normal bill.

Without Optimus, you'll get NAT Type 3 on Nayatel since they use carrier grade NAT which means IP addresses are shared.

I used to get 10mbps upload but for the past few weeks, I've been getting just 1mbps. PTCL claims it's a back end problem that magically only affects MY phone number.
Was facing the exact same issue. I was getting 3 Mbps down and normal upload speed. It was only affecting me and no one else.

And because I'm the only one complaining, they keep shafting me.
Typical PTCL. Unless they have a mob of angry customers, there's no incentive for them to fix it.

Thanks I'll give Nayatel a call tomorrow and make sure to tell them I need NAT Type 2 for gaming so I can get the add on. It's slightly more expensive than PTCL and the lack of unlimited downloads bothers me a little but I think I can live with working around a data cap and would prefer that to PTCL's constant nonsense. There's no end to their stupidity.

Well , there is one more alternative which is kind of miss or hit Fiberlink . I'm using fiberlink 250mb for quit sometime almost 3months. I have to say it is best for online gaming ping is stable and download speed is awesome but there are few down sides which you need to deal . fiberlink is not easy to get and customer support is really pathetic. Now its your choice.

No thanks. I already get pathetic service for free from PTCL. I don't have an issue with my download speed. I have an issue with them not resolving problems.

Well, from what I've read and with my own perceptions of PTCL (cause I have their fiber connection at my home):

Fiberlink will (one year) install the connection. If there's an issue, they will (one fine day, in another year) come to fix it. That's how bad.

With PTCL, replace "one year" with "one month".

I'm not even an engineer and I diagnose 99% of my internet problems correctly before PTCL gets around to doing anything. It takes them one week to arrive to the same conclusions that I told them about in the first place. On top of that, they hear a female voice and they start behaving like they've never heard a female gamer before who at least has a basic understanding of what the hell she's talking about. I'm no expert but I know my way around things enough than I diagnose problems.

Every single friend of mine recommended Nayatel after I uploaded a status on FB yesterday asking for ISP recommendations. Hopefully I will switch after Eid.

For upload speeds, zong is the best, for gaming telenor give very nice pings and even zong pings are better than ptcl.
Havent used nayatel myself, but if you want good upload speeds then go for zong

telenor and zong now both are getting their internet from wateen . Telenor behaves good only because their system is not as congested as zong network.

Is that your personal experience with Fiberlink? I've been using it for 7-8 months now in Rawalpindi. Installation took 30 days as promised, and every issue I've had has taken at most 24 hours to resolve.
