Anyway AbasJin why not find a used PS3 in rawalPindi since I went to saddar last Friday and saw a shopkeeper selling used 40GB PS3 for Rs.26K !!!

plz somebody tell me that pirated ps2 games can be played on ps3? I have lots of pirated ps2 games dvds and also tell me that should I purchase ps3 by selling ps2 first?

Well first of all PS2 Pirated Games won't run on PS3 and Secondly Even Original PS2 Games would only run on older 60 and 80GB Models . You can try to sell PS2 but it won't sell more thyen 7K since I sold mine for 6.8K !!

thanks hamza! u helped me out again. that means if I keep my ps2 and purchase ps3 40 or 60 gb model, is it a fair deal? also tell me that how much games can store or play in 20 gb model? I know 40 gb model is enough for storage.

OK first of all yeah keeping your PS2 is a good deal so you can play those games which are available on both PS3 and PS2 . Secondly I don't think that you can store Games on the hard drive of a PS3 but if possible it would be a very lengthy process . 20GB Model is discontinued and not available any more . You may be lucky to find a used one . And yeah 40GB is enough for downloading demos and movies !!

Hamza thanks for the info about the ps3 and its games.

Well I personally dont feel like going for old stuff (psychology :S , i never feel secure with old stuff, like old stuff can go faulty any moment).
I've got exam 2moro morning, then I'll go on a ps3 hunt around the city , checking all da shops etc for prices and other info regarding it.

I like games like Ratchet and Clank (played those on my ps2), but i'm more of a Tekken freak (or used to be, caz i'm losing my taste for games now, too busy with real life (tm) and studies)). But i'm stuck in this indecsive state for($i=0;$i<9999;$i++){echo "ps3 lena hy, nahi lena hy";}

BTW i saw that vid, the namco guy interview with gamespot, they're planning on releasing Tekken6 on the x360 also. which is a big shame for sony, they lost such a great title's exclusive rights.

I'll post back here with more info about my ps3 info hunt around zi town.

If you liked Ratchet and Clank in the past then trust me, the best one is the one on PS3.

Yeah go get PS3 there are two Ratchet and Clank's on it . One is Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction and the other is an expansion and only available on PSN : Ratchet and Clank Future Quest for Booty !!

Visited Sony Center on Gakkhar Plaza road rawalpindi today.
The dudes are selling the 40GB CECH/B (something.. no G) with 1 year replacement warranty for 45k. The dudes are overcharging 200$ compared to the official Sony price for the same model (400$). They claim to be official but i highly doubt that.

I'll probably visit Imperial Market 2moro after uni and ask for the latest rates there.

Actually, thats not 100% correct ..... There is a way to play pirated games on your PS3, but it requires a little soldering ..

i think that the 40GB version is the best because the Processor(Cell Broadband Engine) is updated with the 65nanometer technology compared to the 90nanometer technology
(the lesser the better @ lesser power consumption and lesser heat output = more efficiency and if it is possible to overclock it in the PS3 ,then IBM ,the creater of the processor says that they got the processor upto 6Ghz from 3.2Ghz(stock) after the shrink to 65nanometers)
currently one of the most powerful processors in the world

Is this correct? Also the 40 gig also has chrome finish right?

^ ALL ps3's now come standard with those 65 nm chips. i think they've been standard for more than a year, you don't need to worry about it.

and nop, the 40gb doesn't come in that chrome finish. however, the 40 gb is locally available in 3 colours; black, white and silver.
