What? I'm still around, I just don't post much anymore :tv:
I was shocked at that opinion. Never took you for someone who liked shooters, let alone a MP shooter. And call it GoTY worthy least of all in a year where Japanese games got somewhat relevant again :p
wese, if buch of you guys (4 of u I guess lol) can get together I'd love to play some PUBG. PC only tho :p
Oh yeah, we can do that. And we might have a shocking appearance from someone as well :p

In the mean time, if someone wants to play a similar game but much better on consoles, Fortnite is also there :p

We can do a peasant party.

Tat's still true, but this one's a little special I guess, I still wouldn't play games like CoD or battlefield lol

and if I had played P5 this year It'd be my GOTY by default so there's that :tv:

The thirst is real for getting some kind of exclusive holiday game to justify their console purchase, no matter how broken the state of the game might be :p

I'll be happy to let XB owners beta test the full release for muh PS4 :p

Actually Alpha might be more appropriate based on the state of it though :p

But wait...what about all these theories?

Yeah, but at least it would have been the actual fun to play version with the bigger and better community :p
For a game which lives and dies online, a month long delay probably means anyone who wanted to play had already played it :p
Price shouldn't be a factor for the real/full experience with the superior community :p

[...], but the OG community is where it's at :p
No performance advantages, no OG community, significantly smaller community and delayed. So why even bother playing this on the consoles now? :p

You're just proving my point for me :p What really is the point of PubG on console ? Clearly they're not able to bring the actual game experience in a fully playable manner :p

We've haerd the saying there's a sucker born every minute. WE now know there's at least 1m suckers who bout this for console :p

PUBG's first patch on Xbox One takes aim at performance issues (update)Graphics and performance improvements promisedPlayerunknown’s Battlegrounds has received its first patch for the Xbox One version available in Game Preview. The patch went live at 4 a.m. ET.The notes for patch No. 1 say it makes “first pass visual and performance improvements,” with “slightly improved anti-aliasing” on launch Xbox Ones and Xbox One S.Frame rate and graphical polish were among the shortcomings players found when PUBG launched in Game Preview a week ago. The sluggishness was especially disappointing given its presence even when the screen didn’t show a lot of action or movement. The patch resolves some other bugs and animation glitches that players may have noticed. Of note, the controls when riding a motorcycle are no longer inverted, and the keyboard functionality has been disabled. A squad leader leaving a party also could disable party chat; that’s been fixed as well. Many other fixes and improvements are called out in the patch notes. PUBG’s community coordinator said this is “the first of many Xbox-focused patch notes to come.”Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds launched on Dec. 12 in the Xbox One Game Preview program. It has been in Steam Early Access since March, and is due for a 1.0 launch on Windows PC tomorrow.Update: With the update now live, we hopped into the game on Xbox One and found marginal improvements. Texture pop is still an issue in the first few minutes of the game, and beyond 300 meters the game looks muddy and undetailed. There’s still a bunch of lag, further complicating long-range sniping.Beyond that, the biggest issues we have with the game in its current state is that free-look is still painfully slow when you’re parachuting, and map functionality is awkward. But those don’t feel like terribly technical issues, and hopefully we’ll see them addressed soon.

The 10gb patch is already out on Test Servers and believe me the performance is much better now. The RAM usage is less also the overall game experience is balanced now. Now lets see what 1.0 has to offer. One thing I am wondering will everyone have to download 1.0 patch or test server files will work.

Polygon review: 10/10
Critics and fans have speculated on how PUBG will operate as an esport, whether or not its pacing works for competitive play. But that ignores the obvious fact: Battlegrounds works as entertainment. Sport or not, it has found its audience of players and viewers alike. We’ve already seen Battlegrounds’ first “cousin” in the form of Fortnite: Battle Royale, which beat the game to market on console. Expect to see more in the coming years, as every AAA publisher finds ways to put its brands, talent and money into exploiting the language of the battle royale genre. I have no doubt a few of these games will be great. One or two may be superior to Battlegrounds. But they will never capture the magic of first becoming fluent in this imperfectly perfect game.
This is Polygon's only tenth perfect review. It was also ranked #2 in their GoTY 2017 list.

The four best improvements to PUBG since launchLooking back on nine months of incremental improvementsPlayerunknown’s Battlegrounds launched into Steam’s Early Access program in March. Since then, the team at PUBG Corporation has effectively been building a rocketship while it lifts off of the launch pad. There have been technical hiccups, to be sure, but there’s also been some fantastic innovations. Here are the four best improvements made to the game in the last nine months, all of which will be included in this evening’s 1.0 update.THE NEW DESERT MAP, MIRAMARWhen Battlegrounds first arrived on the scene, the environment looked an awful lot like every other survival shooter. A relatively flat, post-apocalyptic, vaguely Eastern European setting with a mix of NATO and Warsaw Pact weapons lying around.Although it’s very purposefully built, with long sightlines and smatterings of dense, urban terrain, it’s also really weird. Why is there an isolated plateau in the middle of a corn field? Why is there a spot on the western edge of the map with a flooded inland bay full of half-submerged houses. And what’s up with those Greco Roman temple complexes? Who cares. Just go with it.Miramar changed the tone, though, and in many ways has given the game a wholly new and unique feel.Brendan “Playerunknown” Greene has said time and again that he owes his success to those who came before, specifically Dean Hall and his work on DayZ. Hall chose Chernarus, a “geotypical” landmass created by Bohemia Interactive, because of its scale — 225 square kilometers, with room enough for tank companies to do battle while jet fighters and attack helicopters duke it out overhead. Erangel, Battlegrounds’ original map, has the same kind of furniture scattered around, but it lacks that whole geotypical bit. It makes zero geologic sense.I’m not saying that Miramar is ripped from the pages of National Geographic, but it sure flows a lot better. Also, its scarcity of grass and bushes looks more attractive given the limitations of the game engine. Even more importantly, the buildings — which make visual sense when set against the terrain — offer more options for sniping positions and close-quarter battle scenarios. Its verticality, with massive buildings on opposite sides of the street in some places, plays to the strength of the game’s ballistic model.CLIMBING AND VAULTINGLike many first-person shooters, it’s pretty hard to suspend your disbelief once players start bunny hopping around the map. Even more problematic for Battlegrounds was the fact that players, who are asked to spend a large portion of their in-game time running at top speed toward the horizon, were regularly stopped cold by the humble chain link fence. Vaulting changes all that, and allows for fluid movement over obstructed terrain. But the developers went further. There’s an entire context-sensitive climbing system that allows players to make their way up onto the top of just about anything they can reach. It also grants them the ability to leap into or out of most of the windows in the game, meaning that being cornered in a ramshackle outbuilding is less of a problem than it used to be.

PUBG 1.0 goes live on PC after server issuesPlayerunknown’s Battlegrounds has officially left early access on PC.Following a long period of server maintenance yesterday, the 1.0 version of the game was pushed live to players around the world before being announced on Twitter at 3:01 a.m. EST.View image on TwitterView image on Twitter PLAY BATTLEGROUNDS✔@PUBATTLEGROUNDSPlayers, the maintenance is over and PC 1.0 is finally here! We really hope you enjoy it. Please download the updated client if you haven't already. Thank you for waiting and thank you all for supporting us so generously. This is just the beginning! #ThisIsBattleRoyale1:01 PM - Dec 21, 2017 353 353 Replies 2,178 2,178 Retweets 6,789 6,789 likesTwitter Ads info and privacyLike clockwork, it crashed hard just a few hours later. It always takes a while for a large game update to propagate. Immediately after launch, the numbers on Steamcharts climbed slowly, but steadily. Around 5:00 a.m. EST there were one million players. A half-hour later, the number was closing in on 1.5 million. That’s when things started to get a little wacky. At launch, one of the first things that the Battlegrounds client does is connect to a server. I’m sure it’s checking on things like the clothes you own and how many credits you’ve got in the bank. But around 5:30 a.m. today, I just got a blank screen. No character, no HUD, just a windswept corner of Erzangel with a big hole in the middle of it where my avatar should be standing. After restarting the game several times, I finally got into a match, but with only about 10 other players in-game, the timer never started counting down to start the match. We were stuck there, all of us, in a kind of weird limbo. One player just ran off toward the horizon. This morning’s quick fix to solve Battlegrounds’ server issues was barely a blip compared to the longer maintenance window yesterday. SteamchartsBut, after a bit of work in the server room, it looks like everything is going smoothly for the team at PUBG Corp. The total player count is climbing, and should be over two million within the hour. By this evening, expect the game to come close to its all-time high of more than 2.9 million. As anticipated, the final 1.0 release includes climbing and vaulting and the new desert map Miramar. There are lots of small fixes to read about, however. You can find the complete patch notes on Steam. The Xbox One version of Battlegrounds is still in early access. No formal release date has been given.
