PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has a new map coming soon: Miramar, which will arrive in the final test round of the game before its formal 1.0 launch.
Miramar is a desert environment, a departure from the usual fields and forests of the original Erangel map. “We wanted to go the opposite direction of having lush fields and forests,” the developers wrote in an announcement on PUBG’s Steam page. “The unique terrain and dense urban areas of Miramar will create a new Battle Royale experience where the old strategies may no longer work and new tactics are required.”

Miramar will feature eight distinct locations: Los Leones, El Pozo, Monte Nuevo, Valle del Mar, La Cobreri, San Martin, Pecado and Chumacera. The Steam page post goes into more detail about their backgrounds and terrain. Miramar has other features out in its wilderness to discover, too.
Also on Wednesday, Bluehole announced the dates for three cosmetic packs for the Xbox One’s Game Preview launch of PUBG, which launches Dec. 12. The PUBG Warrior Pack is available starting tomorrow, Dec. 7. Then The PUBG Accessory Pack is available on Dec. 14, which is two days after the game’s preview launch. The PUBG Tracksuit Pack follows on Dec. 21.
The Warrior Pack is $9.99 and includes a balaclava hat, camo t-shirt, pants and tennis shoes. The other two will be $4.99 each. Xbox Wire has more details on how to get these cosmetics.

Since the announcement of their partnership, Microsoft says they’ve given enhanced support to the team at PUBG Corporation to bring Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds to market. That includes loaning them the time and expertise of The Coalition, makers ofGears of War 4.
Nico Bihary is Microsoft’s executive producer on the project. He says that whileBattlegrounds is technically a second-party title, his organization has nonetheless given it enhanced support. In many ways, Bihary said, it’s being treated like a first-party title.
“It’s been quite a journey for us,” Bihary told Polygon. “There was this global assessment within Microsoft of how can we pair up with this super collaborative, super friendly and incredibly successful — in the short term — group for our partnership to deliver. As you can imagine, there were a lot of raised hands within Microsoft to offer support.
“PUBG is really getting the boutique, first-party, white-glove treatment from Microsoft.”
Battlegrounds, the multiplayer survival shooter that has dominated Steam since its launch in March of this year, announced at this year’s E3 that it would be coming to the Xbox One. That effort has required quite a bit of work for the team. Bihary says that it has been Microsoft’s goal to assist in any way possible, and that includes leveraging the minds at The Coalition.
“By virtue of being publisher there’s some traditional housekeeping that we do,” Bihary said. “Where we are going well beyond that traditional second-party publishing relationship is by offering services like our first-party quality assurance team, offering services like our advanced technical group and enlisting folks like The Coalition to help with the aiming and tuning of controller systems.”
What specifically The Coalition contributed, in terms of headcount or hours worked, Bihary wasn’t able to say. Nevertheless, its experts were able to lend their knowledge to the team building Battlegrounds to help ease that game onto the Xbox platform. The goal was to always be “enabling them to just focus on what’s important” to make the game fun to play.
The Microsoft Game Preview program, which Battlegrounds will launch into on Dec. 12, is similar to Steam’s Early Access. The development of the game started after the PC version, so naturally the Xbox version of the game won’t be quite at the same point of development as the original. Bihary said to expect an experience similar to the one found around May or June of this year on PC.
“We have benefitted from optimizations,” Bihary said. “We will get cool things like vaulting and climbing, and it’s our hope that at some point we’re hoping that our content roadmaps converge, but there’s still going to be a delta for some period of time.”
The game will retail for $30. Bihary said that Microsoft has “no plans or announcements regarding microtransactions,” other than the set of Xbox exclusive cosmetic upgradesannounced earlier this week.

But, before it does, the team at PUBG Corp. are adding a new map. It’s called Miramar, and it was shown in motion for the first time Thursday night during The Game Awards.
Miramar is supposedly smaller than Erandel, Battlegrounds’ original map. It features a mix of urban and rural areas, as well some very tall buildings. You can see some still images in the gallery below.
Miramar is rolling out to the Battlegrounds public test servers tonight at 12 a.m. PT/ 3 a.m. ET.

Tried Desert Map and its very impressive. I found server lag a bit but gameplay was very smooth as compare to old map. I think the team has done a good job optimizing it. New weapons and new cars are awesome.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, the multiplayer survival shooter that has dominated 2017 on PC, is available on Xbox One starting Dec. 12. Here’s what you need to know in advance of the game’s console launch.
[h=3]WHAT IS PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS?[/h]In Battlegrounds, also referred to as PUBG, 100 players parachute onto an island with nothing but the clothes on their back. They scavenge for weapons, armor and vehicles before duking it out to be the last one standing. The winner is awarded the “chicken dinner,” a pile of in-game currency that they can use to purchase cosmetic upgrades.
It sounds simple, but the trick is that, as time goes on, the playable area of the map shrinks. Those left outside the ring are dealt damage over time. That means the main group of heavily armed players are constantly pressed closer and closer together. That makes games fast and brutal, with each one coming in around 30 minutes. Making it into the top ten provides quite an adrenaline rush.
Battlegrounds launched in March 2017 on PC, and so far has sold more than 24 million copies. It’s even unseated Dota 2as the most-played game on Steam.
[h=3]WHEN CAN I PLAY BATTLEGROUNDS ON XBOX? HOW MUCH IS IT?[/h]Battlegrounds launches on Xbox Dec. 12 and will cost $29.99.

PUBG Corp.[h=3]WHO IS MAKING BATTLEGROUNDS FOR XBOX ONE?[/h]Both the PC and the console version of Battlegrounds are being built by the same team at PUBG Corporation. However, the team working on the Xbox One version of the game has received some additional support from Microsoft.
Bihary explained that while Battlegrounds is technically a second-party Microsoft title, PUBG Corp. has been receiving extra assistance, given the high profile of the game. That includes support from the team at The Coalition, makers of Gears of War 4, which has lent its expertise in areas such as aiming, movement and controller support.

A custom controller sent out to members of the press includes some new iconography. Charlie Hall/Polygon[h=3]IS THE CONSOLE VERSION OF THE GAME FINISHED?[/h]Battlegrounds is a work in progress. The PC version has been in Steam’s Early Access program since March and has been adding features and content on a regular basis. After a short delay announced in July, the game will have it’s official 1.0 release for PC on Dec. 20.
For its console release, Battlegrounds will be entering the Xbox Game Preview program, which is similar to Early Access on Steam. When it launches, the console version will not be at the same stage of development as the PC version. Nico Bihary, Microsoft’s executive producer on the project, says players should expect a gameplay experience that is about six months behind the PC version.
[h=3]WHAT MAKES THE XBOX VERSION UNIQUE?[/h]Battlegrounds will run at 30 frames per second on Xbox One. It will also launch with full compatibility with the Xbox One X and feature 4k resolution and high dynamic range (HDR). Otherwise, the plan is to make this version of Battlegrounds the same game as the one being built for PC.
Players on PC and Xbox One will not be able to play together at launch. Developers at PUBG Corp. have expressed an interest in supporting crossplay in the past.
[h=3]DOES THE GAME FEEL GOOD WITHOUT A MOUSE AND KEYBOARD?[/h]Perhaps the biggest unknown, aside from general server-side stability, is what it will feel like to play Battlegrounds while on a console without mouse-and-keyboard support. The PC version of the game has included controller support since August, but it’s far from the ideal way to play the game.
The most challenging aspect for PUBG Corp. will be recreating the PC version’s inventory system when playing with a controller is the only option. Battlegrounds relies on a complex set of weapon attachments, and moving scopes and grips from the ground and onto a weapon as quickly as possible is a big part of the game. Check out the guide to the gamepad controls below for a sense of how this may work in the Xbox version, at least on a mechanical level.

[h=3]HOW ABOUT THE NEW MAP? CLIMBING AND VAULTING? FIRST-PERSON?[/h]A new desert map called Miramar is currently in public testing on PC and scheduled to go live with the PC game’s 1.0 release on Dec. 20. This new map will not launch with the Xbox One version of the game, and no date has been given for when it will arrive on the console.
Climbing and vaulting, a feature that arrived late on PC, will be included at launch on Xbox One.
The console version of Battlegrounds will not include a first-person only mode at launch. For now, that will only be available on PC.

After dying, can one leave the game or are there any consequences etc. Just asking to get the idea if this came can be played when there is a limited time as I come home late from office and after an hour there is load shedding so I don't want to get a too formal game.

if u die u get ur points and u leave immeidatly.

the match can b of 5seconds 10 seconds aswell for u as u can die instantly if u jump from plane where lots of others r there and u strt hving fist fight.

definitely a must buy and play game.

Meanwhile .. while it's a game of a slightly smaller scope, Fortnite is a 100% better experience on consoles. Locked solid 30 and unlocked is always in the 50's and above and controls which are perfectly tailored to game pads.

anyhow it still needs work on pc aswell lets see what we get when it moves out of early access after a week .

The game's performance isn't flattering on PC either to be honest. Nowhere near unplayable levels like this, but could still use more optimization. No wonder its still in "early access" phase.

To be completely fair, Fortnite is also early access and that game is completely free. Fortnite on consoles is also a completely rock solid experience on consoles. Pub G is (on console) is in a terrible state and is being sold for $40. People are buying it just because of the name and getting burned. This should have been free.

In any case, the game should have been in a much better state .. especially when you have MS making statements like this:
