Recently 2 weeks back, my pc would close down randomly so I took out my Ram and cleaned it with an Rubber(eraser) and the problem stop right away. Now two weeks later i'm facing the same problem just like before. Now i can't even go the windows logo screen as it is closing before it. I've tried using 1 Ram stick at a time but it isn't helping. Should i just go ahead and buy new ram or is it a problem with my motherboard.

My Specs:
Core i5 2500k
Asus h61 mobo
Gtx 960 4gb
4gb Ram Kingston
4gb Ram corsair value select
Seagate 1TB HDD

Two most likely cause.

Something is shorting out the motherboard.

Or

Your PSU has reached its limit.

Please mention your PSU.

I had an H61 motherboard which had a similar problem. Mine used to restart at random times, sometimes within minutes and sometime couldn't even login to windows. It turned out my motherboard was faulty so I sent it to Asus to claim warranty.
After two more years of use, same issue resurfaced but now warranty was over so I got a new board.
If you have a friend, try his RAM and Power supply. That should narrow issue down to motherboard and processor. If possible also try his processor. If problem persists you will know it's the motherboard.
Once problem part is found, proceed accordingly.
P.S. you can also take your system to a good computer shop if you can't manage to arrange spare components for checking, although they May charge a fee.

My PSU is Vx550. Bought it 2 years ago. Never have faced any problem with it at all.
I have not used ups at all on my pc.

You hearing any beeps? Try removing HDD and RAM and then reboot your system. See if you hear beeps
Removed GPU still the same problem. Removed HDD still same problem, removed both sticks of RAMs no beeps at all and still facing the same problem.
So i guess the problem is in either Mobo, processor or PSU.

Its strange no beeps mean RAMs are working fine. Now the problem could be with Processor or Mobo. It could be PSU but one last question. What is your Motherboard model? Is it H61-M E/C/D/F/K??

- - - Updated - - -

Also when your PC started to restart randomly did you check temps of CPU?

H61-M Lx2. Processor Temps are stable at 38-40C.

The processor is compatibility with mobo. I am afraid you have to test mobo first as I guess its gone. Also I am assuming you have already CMOS reset by removing battery cell on mobo? IT fixes many reboot issue.
Yep. Took my pc to local shop and had it tested. Tried different PSU, rams. Turns out it was indeed mobo fault afterall.
Thanks to everyone here for helping me [emoji847]
