the only dev studio name i can think of that matches that criteria is Maxis .. so yeah .. kiss my ass wright.

Just have a look at Gameloft and Digital Chocolate, very big companies yet the make such type of games. Starting with this is not a bad idea, and they can't just satisfy 1 customer, they have to look for all, so that's why they are making 2D games. Maybe in future they might be planning to make some real BIG 3D games.

^ lol its easy to talk then do.. i am working on a 2d mobile game project myself.. have worked a lot on 3d before.. but on some aspects i found 2d to be a bit tricky to tackle.. neway yea a single guy could work on the project like i am but i think its better to have 2 or max 3 guys on the team.. coz that way the load is split and you could finish the game faster..

i have a craze for playing games on my cellphone aswell and Gameloft is by far the best company out there who've been making games for cellphones as we download them here for free but out there people do pay for em so they might be selling games on a large scale otherwise why would they do it as far as BIG 3d games are concerned maybe they're not interested in making them but their already 2d titles like prince of persia and assasins creed and asphalt racing are top notch with great gameplay for a mobile game about the 3d part well asphalt was in 3d and same goes for some of their N-gage titles aswell ....anywez best of luck with this....i might contribute someday when i do start development of my own until then (y)

Well I prefer Digital Chocolate over Gameloft, because Gameloft mostly develops retail games which are multiplatform, but DC has been doing a good job with some impressive gamemodes.

    So i just found out that f***ing s***bag Microsoft shut down Arkane Studio (makers of the brilliant Dishonored series) and Tango Gameworks (makers of the iconic The Evil Within series), among some other studios.     Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
