I agree with you mostly But I don't think this is the political govt. which is to blame, I think its the army and ISI. I think this does give them Carte Blanche but honestly when did they not have it?The problem is this bill provides the government with an umbrella law that would cover whateverthefuktheywant under it.
Its not like we had a lot of rights to begin with..
Also, the entire "consent of receiver" terms on email, social media are absolutely bullshit.
And the entire " Anything opinion against Islam" is pushing an extremist rightwing agenda on to people.
AND the worst is the "Anything not appropriate" crap. Who the Abuses will lead to ban decides what's appropriate.
This bill is all about ganja bc doing whatever he can against social media... the one thing he cant control with his money and power.
They're silencing people because they can't tolerate opinion?
Sounds like 1984 to me.
Most of the terrorist organizations have good following on social media. I think with this bill they can bypass encryption protocols and perhaps monitor who is subscribed to banned orgs and who follows some nutjob extremist who happens to be on twitter or facebook. There is active communication and recruitment being done through social media. With ISIS the front leader. I think that is the real reason. The media is out of hand already and political party would never try to hijack social media, they know where that would end and they are looking forward to the next elections.
