Guys, have any of you read the actual bill? Read it here.
https://content.bytesforall.pk/sites/default/files/PECA2015.pdf

There may be some problems but this is not a big deal. No business is going to be shutdown because of emails, texts or newsletters because, the bill clearly states that any business which is recognized by the law will not be affected by the spam law punishments so businesses like czone etc. need not fear.

Yes the govt can take down any content it deems immoral or unethical but I doubt its new. Life will go on just like this. People will find more proxies and vpns to bypass some of these law but it will not affect the average person. More like journalists would find obstacles but there are already services available for journalists and whistleblowers and world terrorists which encrypts all your data, damn NSA would have a hard time decrypting all of it.

So chill, this is disappointing but this is standard procedure anywhere in the world, I am actually a little relieved that this bill is being introduced, while it may sound harassing, it will do good as well. Imagine all the fraudulent websites and online businesses which could be shut down. Cleaning house a little.

It also means that if another 911 happened that we pakistanis will not go on social media and congratulate each other. And it also means that terrorists which are increasingly using online systems and are not too bright at covering their tracks to counter act our govt. mobile bans can be easily targeted and ratted out.

That retaining data clause actually is very telling. It means if someone used a system to transmit a message of hate or terrorism and then deleted their data etc, means they can still be traced.

Terms like intelligence and information systems are technical terms and I doubt it means what the newspapers are saying, I think its blownup, out of proportion just to scare stiff the average person.

No matter what anyone think, it has good points too, especially so because in my opinion it is more of an effort to root out terrorism which has made his roots in this society, we have people who will do a namaz e janaza for OBL, who congratulate Qadri and who congratulated each other when 9/11 happened.

For a society like ours, privacy has been abused and used for terrorist means and things need to be transparent for a while. I hate the notion myself that all of my activity COULD be monitored but I am also glad that no fuckin terrorist can do his job the easy way now too.

It ridiculous what the newspaper are defending. Information systems and Intelligence related info systems should not be hacked. The Bill it seems is more about penalizing the hacking into information systems...which can then be prosecuted, and there is nothing wrong about that. Hacking is a criminal offense. The newspaper article was baffling. It said, if you were hacking into the govt systems, now you can't and you will be prosecuted and what bad luck was that...I was like WTF, are you serious. You are hacking into property you have no right too and if you are prosecuted somehow its unfair? What retarded idea but that is what it was read below from the link of propakistani:

[h=3]Hacking a Government Website Can Get you Behind the Bars for 14 Years and/or Rs. 50 Million Fine[/h]So if you used to hack government websites in past, just don’t dare to do that again. Otherwise you can be put in jail for 14 years along with Rs. 50 Millions in Fine. Below are the corresponding sections for you!
Really? You should never hack in the first place.

I know I wouldn't want my computer to be hacked, no matter what noble desire any hacker had for it.

I use my Boss' computer all the time, when he is absent because I have to carry out his correspondence. If someone here thinks that my boos can complain that it was "His" system I operated, then that's silly. I am using company machine. This is common sense and protocol. So the newspaper brigade wants me to think that if my boss feels bad about it, I would be fined a million in fines. Well that's not true. No need to scratch your heads over that one.

The actual problem that most of the people have (or the ones that have actually read the bill) is that, in simple words, our governament is downright stupid and idiotic (youtube -_-) and the chance that they will cause more harm than good is quite high...... they did put some sensible stuff in the bill..........but bundled a lot of amazingly stupid stuff.......
But still, reading that makes me very unhappy, apni apni dictatorship bana li hai sab nay is 'democratic' country main.....

The problem is this bill provides the government with an umbrella law that would cover whateverthefuktheywant under it.

Its not like we had a lot of rights to begin with..

Also, the entire "consent of receiver" terms on email, social media are absolutely bullshit.

And the entire " Anything opinion against Islam" is pushing an extremist rightwing agenda on to people.

AND the worst is the "Anything not appropriate" crap. Who the Abuses will lead to ban decides what's appropriate.

This bill is all about ganja bc doing whatever he can against social media... the one thing he cant control with his money and power.

They're silencing people because they can't tolerate opinion?

Sounds like 1984 to me.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
