Don't make too many "official" threads. If a user wants to make a thread don't just lock the thread and tell him/her to post on the official thread. This really discourages people. As long as the thread is in the right section it should be allowed. Official threads just make the whole forum section just one gigantic official thread with the most information. It is also harder to find stuff in a big thread compared to smaller more specific threads.

Think that is easily fixable by making the First post on the OT the main info hub, gathered from the whole thread or other smaller ones so one can easily find the info they need and then discuss it on the OT.
Thats the idea of how OT's work.

Wow, Haven't logged into PG for a while, feels odd yet very nostalgic. I loved everything about this place before it went down the crapper with unnecessary politics.
If its about revitalizing the place, i am all up for it. Right now i am riding a few hype trains to games releases that i would love to talk about.

My advice:
Lets focus on quality instead of quantity, keep the discussions on point about video games and video games only... most PG traffic is generated by the market place. Although it generates traffic it also attracts the scum of the earth, people who don't know jack about video games come pouring in with their "25rs. ki CD" logic.

Then they interfere with people who generally have a valuable experience to share and create unnecessary conflicts specially in the Chit-chat section, which makes me wonder why we even needed that in the first place. I've seen people get into all sorts of shit down there with conflicts on religion, life style and small shit that doesn't even matter.

Essentially, i am stressing that we have some kind of a mission statement.... when you gather like minded people, it creates a community, which is what we want to do right now, instead of having something scattered, lets just focus on the core.

Definitely needs a graphical overhaul, although I am sure everyone has got used to, but this needs to move on. And secondly speed, PG is very slow lately.

Looks don't matter as long as the content is good. I think the main forum page is too clustered with information. I remember in my early days I used to just skip the idea for finding the stuff I needed just because of the amount of stuff shown. So my suggestion would be to streamline the forum a bit.

I also think pakgamers should change its theme from dark colors to light colors, i read a article about web design colors which stated that dark colors on website make the website look depressive and discourage people from coming back but light colors on the other hand make the website feel more happy and open and encourages traffic , thats why one of the biggest websites like facebook, youtube, google, yahoo all are using light color

Kindly make the homepage like defence.pk where all the threads with latest replies are shown, this keeps the threads active and live. I for most learned to participate in defence.pk through this mechanism. Just ban the buy and sell threads from showing up on main page. By main page i mean pakgamers.com/forums

The theme of pg seems to be fine but it may be good to have a selection between a light and a dark theme. A general trend is people prefer dark themes on phone and light themes on computers.

Also PG should focus on revitalizing sections by encouraging section only ideas/topics/competitions on a volunteer basis e.g. I tried to get a PG hearthstone thing going but because of little to no responses I resorted to an HS PK page where he have casual tournies every weekend. Same can be done for other sections as far as revitalizing is concerned. We can discuss ideas if this is a part of what you guys want to do.

The forum does need a UI overhaul. Most people(excluding myself) are happy with the color palette but it does need to be "modernized". More like what the homepage looks like I suppose. Speaking of home page though, does anyone actually ever go to it and use it ? If it receives very little traffic, kill it.
P.S I would really like to have a light theme similar to xda-developers on here.

In my opinion marketplace should be a separate sister site . Like Gamasutra has done for its other sites , gamecareerguide & indiegames both are on separate domains . It makes things pretty simple & clear . If you we can have something like Gamasutra then it will be very good . They have organized the information & sections very well .
