General

The International is the focal point of the year for Dota 2 tournaments that serves as the world championship for the sport. Hosted by Valve Corporation in Seattle's Key Arena, 10,000 fans will witness the crowning of the best team in the world. With the massive success of the Compendium, more than 10 million USD are on the line with almost 5 million going to the winners of the event. The event spans across 15 days, divided into the 7 day long playoffs, followed by the 4 day main event after a 4 day break. With 11 teams invited, 4 teams qualifying, and 4 more teams still vying for the final slot of the tournament, The International will provide an enormous amount of games between all the best teams in the world and determine the best Dota 2 team of 2014.

Na'vi, C9, Liquid performing better than I thought they would. DK and Alliance were disappointing.

Yeah even Newbee is 3-2 where as I thought they should at least be in the top 4

Day 2 Schedule, the timings are in SGT so its -3hrs for you guys. For example, 4:00am SGT is equivalent to 1:00am PST.

Like last year with Orange, watching Titans games are just a blast. Really fun to watch their matches.

Other LANs are good but they are nowhere near the level of TI. Varied drafts, unpredictable teams winning and almost everyone having a good shot at winning it all has made it easily the best tournament thus far.

I'm glad for two reasons:

1. Teams have just gotten so good, they can counter Alliance's plays.

2.THE F***ING RATS ARE OUT

Whaaaatt? It was always a pleasure watching bulldog play nature's prophet. I was hoping we get to see bulldog play prophet at-least once in this tournament. Oh well, atleast naga is being picked a lot, so there are some enjoyable games to watch.

Granted, rat can win you games, but how was it fun watching bulldong taking down towers while everybody else is fighting somewhere else? It feels kind of cowardly in a way.

It's not just about pushing when the rest of your team is fighting. Pajkaat tried do that, but couldn't, because most pro teams can counter Nature Prophet's solo pushing a lane. But the way bulldog plays prophet is that he frustrates the other team, because they can never pick him off, neither can they push or fight against him without trading a tower or barracks. Playing prophet like that requires a huge amount of skill and map awareness. Also his micro of the treants is beautiful in the offlane. Watching the hero being played to perfection is why I like watching bulldog's prophet. And it's not cowardly at all. I can also argue that using a cheese 5 man push strat and ending the game by 20 minutes is cowardly.

It requires skill, co-ordination and is difficult to play into, yes. It lead to a lot of victories for Alliance, including TI3, yes. Still doesn't change the fact that it's not entertaining (of course these guys aren't playing for our entertainment, but still, just saying).
