^ Destiny is also probably the least complex of the games he tested :p
"Complex" isn't the word you're looking for here :p
Ubisoft's animation system is realistic and "weighty" yet doesn't exhibit this amount of lag.

RDR 2 relies very heavily on thousands of canned unique animations and very heavy reliance on auto aim during combat. Lord have mercy on anyone whose playing RDR2 with free-aim combat.
So what you're saying is it basically plays itself :p

The game definitely has a lot of input lag, reminds me of the KZ2 fiasco. But since this isn't a (online) FPS it is still playable. Still I can't imagine trying to free-aim in this game :p
The game has an FPS mode though. Its as much an FPS as its a TPS.

No, it's not like FFXII where you set gambits and everything happens automatically if that's what you mean :p

the game has a definite lag to every action, I think this was mentioned in the OT as well. (Un)fortunately it's the kind of thing you get used to after the first couple of hours of a 50~ hour game like this. If this was a twitch shooter type of 5 to 8 hour campaign then I could have seen a lot more of an uproar. But, barely any games media covered this at all.

It has an FPS mode, but it's definitely not meant to be a first person shooter. Most set pieces and encounters are designed for third person cover.

Hence God of War should win more GoTY awards because it is through and through a much better 'game' to play and derive fun from. :p

The GAVIN mystery has finally been solved !

Lol... I came across this guy in Saint Denis where he kept on shouting GAVIN GAVIN. The guy clearly seemed to have mental health issues so I followed him for a while but then i though fuck it and moved on... Is this video spoilery in any way ?

Saw the video and not only does it NOT solve the mystery it is also somewhat spoilery as it talks about the epilogue's timeline. So I would suggest anyone who hasn't completed the game to stay away.

[h=1]Red Dead Redemption 2 Online launches in beta on Nov. 27[/h]

[h=2]Rockstar Games reveals first details on Red Dead’s multiplayer mode[/h]

Red Dead Redemption 2’s online multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, will go live on Tuesday, Nov. 27, Rockstar Games announced today.
Rockstar will launch Red Dead Online in beta form on Nov. 27 at 8:30 a.m. ET, and it will initially be accessible only for owners of the Ultimate Edition of Red Dead Redemption 2. The following day, the beta will open up to those who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on its first day of release — Oct. 26. On Thursday, Nov. 29, those who played the game in its first three days of release (Oct. 26-29) will get access. Then, on Friday, Nov. 30, online multiplayer will open up for all Red Dead Redemption 2 players.
Red Dead Online has been described by Rockstar as “an evolution of the classic multiplayer experience in the original Red Dead Redemption, blending narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways.” Players will be able to explore the online experience solo or with friends, and Rockstar promises “constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players.”
In an announcement today, Rockstar said the world of Red Dead Online will be transformed “into a new, living online world ready to be shared by multiple players.” Players will create and customize their online characters and “tailor your abilities to suit your play style.” Players will be able to join a posse — up to eight players — and go out hunting and fishing, battle rival gangs, and fight other players in “spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles.”
Red Dead Redemption 2’s online multiplayer mode will be free and available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PS4 version of the game will have select exclusive content for Red Dead Online.

Finished the game last night. A short breakdown of what I thought.

The Good

- By far the most ambitious and immersive open world created to date; takes the idea of "living/breathing" to another level.
- The wild west setting is perfectly realized. It's a brutal, harsh, and depressing world, filled with fraud, criminal mindsets, deception, and utter disregard for life.
- Fantastic storytelling with a host of well-developed characters. You know you're invested in a game's story when you start liking and hating some of its characters.
- It's not often that control is taken away from the player, and despite the cinematic nature of the game, a lot of in-game conversations don't force you into cutscenes.
- NPC AI is great for the most part.
- Despite being an open world game, it manages to deliver cinematic moments and set-pieces due to a linear approach to its mission design...

The Bad

- ...though this linearity is sometimes too enforced, and you have to do things in flow exactly the way you're "meant" to in order to progress.
- The control scheme and user experience are both unintuitive and require getting used to.
- The final chapter is bloated and largely unnecessary. I was yawning my way through it and just wanted the game to end at that point.

The Ugly

- Sluggish character movement and aiming remain an annoyance up until the very end. I never got used to it, and it certainly doesn't bode well for the online component.
- Having to rely on auto-aim to compensate for the above.
- Awkward cover system that often positions you right in the line of sight of enemies.

Gentlemen,

I am currently in Chapter 2 and plan to spend the next winter with this game. I have read a couple of "Things to do First" in this article:

Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Things You Must Do First

1. Turn Up Controller Acceleration, Turn Down Dead Zone
2. Turn Off HDR, Because It's Terrible

Do you have any suggestions and comments regarding the above two?

Thanks.
