Some impressions about the game's difficulty. The game, in Hard mode, can be as difficult as a Souls game according to one GAF user.

Almost everyday i fire up my lappy at work and the first thing i notice is the date at the bottom right to see how far I am from 28th. So want to Pre-order digitally but I am sure physical discs would be here a couple of days before the digital copy unlocks and that wait would be freakin unbearable.

Review embargo has been lifted.

Polygon - 9.5/10
Horizon: Zero Dawn feels like a storied developer finally finding its voice.
IGN - 9.3/10
A beautiful open world peppered with mechanical monsters that make for exhilerating fights.
PSU - 9.5/10
Horizon Zero Dawn reinvigorates open-world RPGs with an excellent story, creative science fiction, and demanding gameplay. Aloy’s debut is one of PS4’s greatest games.
GameSpot - 9/10
Guerilla Games has delivered one of the best open-world games of this generation, and redefined its team's reputation in the process.
GamesRadar - 4.5/5
A world that begs you to explore every corner.
CGM - 8.5/10
Horizon Zero Dawn is the gaming equivalent of realizing that sounding too much like the legends—when done well—is just fine.
COG - 100/100
A masterful epic that outshines any game we’ve seen on the PlayStation 4 so far. Words can not do justice for what you need to see for yourself.
GeekCulture - 10/10
If we needed one game to start 2017 with a bang, Horizon Zero Dawn is the cream of the crop, and I wish I could relive it over and over again.
Telegraph - 5/5
On the surface, Horizon seems like a jumble of influences but, just like the murderous machina wandering its lands, the game is far more than its component parts, delivering a gripping story, satisfying combat, and the most gorgeous video game environments I’ve ever seen.
GiantBomb - 5/5 (Full marks from Jeff!!!)
Guerrilla's got something really special here.

Metascore
currently stands at 89.

You spoke too soon, my friend. :p

According to a post by NeoGAF member thuway, Horizon: Zero Dawn will receive a small day one patch, which will include a 'Performance Mode' for the game on the PlayStation 4 Pro. The performance mode will offer smoother frame rates and will be available for both 4K and 1080p displays.

O teri Khair... Reviews out soooo soon !!!!! The game is still a week away from launch. Gotta commend GG for having so much faith in what they have created... and the meta score seems to be SAX even at a couple of points below of what i expected.

Solid scores, but the accompanying text isn't encouraging in many of those reviews. Its not a good thing when reviews call out this game for not standing out and lacking an identity of its own. Looks like I'll sit this one out til its hits $30 or something. Sigh

Anyone saw Eurogamer's review? They're really pounding it
At this point I think it's safe to assume that it's more of an open world action game than an Rpg. For me that's just fine as long as its enjoyable. And from the couple of reviews that I have gone through, the impression is that the combat, environment, story etc is done right. For an open world action game I think these are more than enough reasons to at least give it a try and then form your opinion about it.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
