Ahan. And which of those benchmarks were using DX11?

Look, I didn't say there weren't impressive at all. Improvements are there in some games, and pretty good, but I expected alot more than that in intensive games. Atleast beat older cards in all games by a lenghty lead. I didn't see that here.

GTA IV @ 1200p - 0xAA --> 3fps more than GTX 285
WIC @ 1200p - 4xAA --> 4fps more than GTX 285
Stalker @ 1200p - 4xAA --> 10fps more than GTX 285
Crysis @ 1200p - 8xAA --> 11fps more than GTX 285
Far Cry 2 @ 1200p - 8xAA --> 12fps more than GTX 285

Wake up billy, driver updates can achieve that. We're talking about a whole new card here

midrange 5800s will compete with last years tech GT200
much like 4800s did with low high end turned midrange 9 Series

yaar what is this .... 5870 cant even play a 2007 game better than 295 ... totally flop
5850 wud be a much better investment (if it matches 4890/275gtx performance) but not 5870
and i dnt think dx11 wud awake a sleeping wolverine ... same results wud be there ... did dx10 gpus show any remarkable difference in dx10 n if they were loosing in dx9 did they start winning in dx10???
so considering dx11 to be more of a visual gimick ... 2010 wud be yet another year of REBRANDING
i bet the man behind the REBRANDING IDEA id from sub continent

You said it right. Each and every word. Its things like these that force NVIDIA to sit back, relax and just release rebranded cards

But lets hope DX11 doesn't have to go through the same path DX10 did. Even though now DX10 does give an advantage as far as performance is concerned. One things for sure, ATi is working very close to Codemasters so DIRT 2 will be optimized for their cards for DX11. Lets wait and see.

Yup I agree the performance is not quite what was expected. The specs are double of what RV770 had but the performance boost is not that much. A driver or two releases will solve this problem as the drivers used were early beta drivers.

A 4890 CF is a better option and yeah 5870X2 is not that far way.

5850 at around 200$ is ftw
much better option n value for money ... almost better tahn 285gtx is most cases
