Lol NVIDIA could also counter this with "1000 MHz means 1000MHz" for the 290X or "Timely driver updates means timely updates".

AMD's advertisement 4GB Means 4GB is very relevant in this scenario means, they seems alive now. because bigger or 4K resolution gamers need clock to clock perform outta available resoures. which AMD can deliver. and knwon for best performer when comes to higher resolution.

they need good marketing strategy for there existing 290 n 290x and upcoming 3xx gen GPUs.

Good Sharing. will be helpful for others. So Galax users will be at safe ends. @Voodoo

BTW we still didn't get any 970 Vram test results from Pakistani Users. someone should contribute in it. would be alot helpful.

No, nobody with a GTX 970 is safe because AIB partners still get their chips from NVIDIA, so no aftermarket GPU is different than the reference. wccftech is spreading this misinformation. NVIDIA confirmed 3.5+0.5GB memory pools just a week ago whereas the wccftech post is 3 weeks old.

yes i thought that too.

One of the factor, that all 970s V-ram and Chip/architecture are after all of NVIDIA chipsets. so it might not possible one brand is correct and other false, in this regard.

Wow! What a breaking 3 weeks old news. Unless Galax got their 970 chip from some other planet, all GTX 970 chips are designed the same way. Also, WCCF.
I cited that article because the article writer have the referred Galax GTX 970 model and his testing procedures revealed that this graphics card can utilize its entire 4GB V-RAM for rendering purposes. How this is achieved is, only Galax engineers can answer.

Some people and article writers are assuming that GTX 970 can allocate 3.5 GB VRAM from the total of 4 GB VRAM, the remainder cannot be accessed or something.

A better understanding of the design flaw is needed.

What are you on about? Go here, there are over 2k posts, while I haven't read all of them but tons of GTX 970 owners are facing problems. And please don't expect me to read every outdated post you throw at me. I did, however, read the conclusion and even the article you cited clearly shows there's a problem for multi-GPU owners and the author says the difference of 512MB is nonexistent, how stupid is this.

How is an article published in Jan 26, 2015 outdated? Are you checking the links or just stuck in the mindset of memory split in GTX 970?

Nobody is denying the so-called flaw or more appropriately different design logic of GTX 970 then GTX 980.

Point of contention is that whether GTX 970 can allocate its entire 4GB of VRAM for rendering purposes or not: several testing procedures reveal that it can. However, some applications are not customized to utilize multiple pools of a memory unit so they cannot take advantage of entire VRAM of GTX 970.

I was about to order 2x GTX 970 few days ago and read this news. Thank God I changed my mind and went with 980.

Anything that's released before NVIDIA confirmed this 2 different memory pool thingy is outdated. And good luck with your bias.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
