Big Rock Candy Mountain.
I seriously doubt all these so called "protestors" are so extremely offended that they just had to in all their furious rage burn shit down. I think it is more about just the fun factor rather than a religious one. It must feel quite empowering, you know destroying shit in the middle of the street and no one can do anything to you. These people feel empowered, it is a thrill. Especially for the younger ones.

Religion is just used to mask this.

Why don't they just play GTA series instead wreak havoc.

I seriously believe that was a 'low blow', 'cowardly act' coming from a civilized society which boasts freedom of expression, democracy whatever whatever. They should be ashamed and man enough to arrest the culprits behind it. If there is a law to protect criticism against holocaust then why there isn't any law regarding the insults they throw every now and then.

My point of view on the whole event which happened yesterday:
1. The government was afraid of the people and also had to keep America happy so they observed this useless day through which they did their job and did not make America unhappy.
2. Looters, robbers, target killers etc took advantage of this and merged in with the crowds instigating them to destroy the country. Secondly, the over-extended "rule" of fake religious parties, clerics etc over people and their illiteracy also resulted in more destruction.
3. Government was not prepared to fight back the rioters and army should have been summoned beforehand.
4. Media also exploited people's feelings by giving live coverage of the event.
5. Youngsters just for the sake of fun did most of the destruction.
6. The rioters may have been paid by some "foreign" elements as most of us educated people did not protest like that. There were many peaceful protests too.
7. Many people might have done this to avoid being labelled as Kafirs etc.

Result:
While we had to show that Muslims are not terrorists and a peaceful community, we did the exact opposite and some black sheeps, enemies of Pakistan went even further to harm the state machinery itself.

Moral:
1. Impose restrictions on Media.
2. Improve literacy rate.
3. Mosque should be monitored by a government run committee etc.
4. Muslims should not be instigated by disgusting movies etc and try to harm the respective country who did that not show your anger on your country.
5. Clerics and governments should play a more important role next time anything like this happens.
6. Muslim Governments should give a strong reply to the country in which something like this happens again so the "awaam' does not get mad.
7. Punish the protesters who harmed the state.
8. Try to tell the masses that what those film makers did was wrong but protesting like this is also wrong.

And these retards are doing nothing but undermining Prophet PBUH, Islam and Allah. :fp1:

Secondly, we should expel the ambassador and end our ties with USA until it does some strong steps against the movie. Why the hypocrisy?
Everyone should read this.

As much as I hate Amir Liaquat, his words really shook me.
He said that the protesters who are burning offices and buildings should know that maybe the people inside them are betters followers and lovers of the Prophet PBUH. He also said that GEO will organize a film making competition in which whosoever made the best movie on showing love to the Prophet PBUH will be awarded 1 million(or it was 1 lakh). Great step I must say, I do wish all channels collaborate in this effort. Would really be a great step. ;)

You know, when you go out of Pakistan (for studies, work, etc ..), you come to realize what a *small* thing Pakistan has become in the eyes of the world ... Most of the people have an image of the state which is always under trouble ... And those people laugh at us back our backs .. I was actually embarassed at times to even tell people I was a Pakistani ...

Anyways, sometimes I really hate this country for what it has become ... I really hope Allah Almighty somehow shows us the correct way ... Violence is never the answer to problems like this ... If only the 'un-parh jaahil' part of this country understood that ..
sometimes even the parhe likhay also behave like jahils.

M living on Shami Road, Peshawar.
The protestors happened to pass on this road right in front of our home.
I watched them from my window when suddenly an 8 year old kid picked a stone and threw it towards me and after that stoning at our house started like if it was my house where the movie was created.
Windows broken..... lights broken... cars damaged...... cable wires taken away...
WTF is wrong with our people??
I just pray to Allah to show some Mercy.. to put some sense into our people's heads... to give them ability to think before doing such a foolish act.
I'm damn sure if a couple more movies are produced... we'll be so mad that we'll drop atomic bombs on ourselves

I love this thread, how the blame is somehow being placed on USA and lack of education of all things. hahaha

such "jahil and lanti" protestors who destroyed the public properties, killed or wounded others should be hanged to death <_< they call them "Ashiq-e-Rasool" (S.A.W) yet they know nothing about our holly prophet teachings!

People cursing 'jahil awam' and all. Here's an eye opener for you guys it's not just Pakistan FGS! rioters, free rollers are like everywhere yes in those 'developed' countries too.

Anyone? it just passed like recently
2011 England riots - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and those memes that started flowing when people were breaking into departmental stores and coming out with an 40'' LCD

it's just how people with 'danda' are to them? How they can control when 2/3 of the law enforcement guys are on 'protocol' 'VIP' VVVVVIP just add the V's

Every Pakistani now can sense where does the problem lies it's just really easy for these guys to start chaos and who gets blamed? Religious guys, Political parties but that's just wrong it's the law enforcement guys yes, they do get outnumbered like in seconds they don't have anything but tear-gas while being fired upon by Kalashinkova and what not and all hell breaks loose like everytime. It's too easy for them scavengers as they are looking for a chance every now and then.

Just for a heads up. They were burning tyres and stuff nearby my place under GEO TV office and i was like waiting for maghrib prayers and observing these guys do calm down while azaaan from the nearby masjid which they didn't further in the masjid there were same old known faces and 2 lines (sa'af) of jama'at and i thought these aashiqaan e rasool guys will fill up the mosque to full-house.
Scavengers were in thousands? And why are you aligning this rioting with with happened in developed countries? Is it a comforting food for thought?

DHA KARACHI.
Our country is filled with nothing but hate. Illiteracy is the root problem of all this.

Did you guys know that the US themselves asked Google to remove this, but Google did not agree, citing that it was an expression of freedom of speech?

Furthermore, raiding the US embassy is nothing short of stupidity as it defies the Islamic principles itself, which is that one person can't pay for the crimes of another. I'm extremely ashamed to be a Pakistani right now, as not only does this show that we are violent and aggressive by nature, but also that we lack knowledge of our own religion.
