Hiya folks!

So since the 360 idea went back, I thought of getting a PC first.

So here are the rough specs, which I got the prices of. Please let me know what you guys think.

P.S. This is meant to be primarily for gaming, but I'll be getting the GPU later on.



C2D E6750
2GB of DDR2 RAM (@ 667 or 800 Mhz....Help me decide :p) Don't know which brand yet.
250GB of HDD
GA-P35-DS3R
20" LCD
500Watt PSU...For now
GPU: Cheapest 7 series card I can find, that will let me run at 1680x1050 :frown:

i agree with Beginner
get a 800Mhz ram of corsair.
then u can easily clock ur E6750 from 2.66 to 3.2Ghz on stock cooling by changing the frequency from 333 to 400.
and it will now be working on 1:1 (fsb:ram ).

Well I'm in Sri Lanka atm and that mobo is availible here, so thats what I'm gonna grab. Considering I ain't running SLI or anything, so yeah. Its got all the latest shit we gamers need, 1333mhz FSB, supports 1066mhz of RAM with upto 8gigs xD, its a P35 board, has a PCI-e slot (which is enough for me) and ITS VISTA APPROVED! :p
Funny thing is, in THIS video, the guy shows off a different version and at the very end of the vid he shows this board and it has DDR3 slots aswell but for some reason they've removed those now. :(

800Mhz it is then ;), coz I will consider o/c'ing in the future when I get a high end GPU in it. I was thinking of going Quad, but I don't have enough $$$ so I'm gonna get the E6750.

Will be selling the one I'm using right now by Wed/Thurs and will probably get the new rig on Saturday, after Eid (inshallah).

Nice specs ! As for GPU Id suggest the 7900GS - you'll get it in ur budget and its an amazing card . There's one already on sale on PG for $115 . As for RAM get a 2 gig DDR 2 Corsair RAM . Its the best .

I'm kind of a DX10 nut. 8 Series FTW! 9 series soon....

I really hope i can get Corsair, because there are tons of availability issues here, Kingston is definitely available but I want Corsair. We'll see how it goes.

A personal advice about the GPU - DO NOT but a video card at the moment - let the 9 series come so the prices of the previous ones drop and you would be able to get a pretty cheap 8 series card that you want . Buying a video card atm is a sheer loss of money and plain stupidity .

Yaar kiya keh rahay hoo. Ek number ka ghatiya mulk hai, mujhay to bilkul nahi pasand. Kuch bhi nahi ha yaha :frown:Why I'm here? Well its my dad's job, he'll be transfered back in a few months...yay!

P35 chipset doesn't have builtin graphics... so he must buy a GPU now, buy any cheap Geforce7 series card or ATI 1000 series ones

BTW can you tell me your final rig specs which you are going to buy? as I don't want to read the text on the previous page(s)...
