lol @ HD remaster. I think you're mixing the XBO version with the X360 version.

The XBO version of Tomb Raider was 1080p. There really is no reason to believe the new game will be sub-1080p, especially now that the June SDK has freed up 10% of the console's GPU resources.

Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection on PS3 was 1080p. Did that make Tekken 6 1080p as well? Running a previous gen game at 1080p is a lot easier than running a current gen game at that resolution.

Not saying it can't be, but it's not a given as you are claiming.

That example doesn't work. Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection was based on PS2 tech. Tomb Raider XBO is based on the PC version, which was technologically ahead of the X360 game.

Also, Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming to X360 as well. In the presence of a last-gen version, it's unlikely to boast a huge visual leap over the first game on XBO.

Also, guys, initial reports suggested that it might be a timed exclusive, on the contrary recent speculation suggests it ain't timed.

also it could also be a reason to buy an xone in holiday 2015, like to play the next halo, gears of war, quantum break and this game rise of the tomb raider but still it would come to other platforms for sure because its not a game of that type to remain exclusive,

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed to Eurogamer that Microsoft's controversial exclusivity deal for Rise of the Tomb Raider "has a duration". However, he declined to confirm how long that duration is set for.

Last night, during its Gamescom press conference, Microsoft and Square Enix made the surprise announcement that Rise of the Tomb Raider would launch holiday 2015 exclusively on Xbox. That, Spencer confirmed, means Xbox One and Xbox 360.

But the wording of its statement caused some to wonder whether the game would eventually launch on other platforms. Spencer wouldn't speak for Square Enix on this, but did compare the deal to that it had for Xbox One games Dead Rising and Ryse, which will also launch on PC.
Spencer's comments confirm Square Enix, owner of Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics, is free to do whatever it wants with the game and the franchise after the exclusivity deal ends, including releasing it on other platforms.
