Lets hammer out a plan for a PG Tourney. Its something you guys have been asking for a while and im finally convinced it would be fun :p

HARDWARE

XBOX - 4 Consoles - 8 Controllers
PS3 - 4 Consoles - 8 Controllers
PC - 8 rigs
Displays (Shared) - 8 Plus (if possible) a projector
Camera :p - 1

WHO WILL PARTICIPATE

Since most of us have broadbands, im thinking a league like tourney with best teams/players from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad (others cities welcome) facing off in a grand final over the internet. We might also make league games online depending on the number of people interested.

WHICH MACHINE?

The plan is to use PCs/360s for local matches and only using the PS3 for finals (i.e. online matches). A problem for us is PCs, people can bring their consoles to the spot easily but a PC is a whole diffferent story. any suggestions how we can do this? how about someone picking up pcs from the homes of guys who dont have their own transportation.

DID YOU SAY KARACHI LAHORE AND ISLAMABAD

Yes. There will basically be simultaneous PG meets in 3 cities with more people joining in via the internet. We intend the Tourney to be finished in a single day (i.e. the league games plus the finals).

WE STILL NEED A PLACE

This is the hardest part. We have some places in karachi, homes of some pg members etc but i fear we might have to rent out spaces in out cities. It would be great if members from all cities can visit thier local gaming zones and find out how much it will cost us to rent 10 or so PCs for 6 hours. We can connect the consoles to the pc monitors, im sure those guys wont have a problem (atleast the guys at playdium karachi dont)

HEY YOU!

how about a show of that pg spirit! as you can see we need consoles, games and controllers! it would be great if we can find copies of PS3 cause thats a problem. 360 games are dime a dozen and there are plenty of controllers around. Please guys, if you can bring a console, controller, pc or a display, do come forward!

so this is just the blueprint. no date yet. suggestion welcome, what do you think?

FEEDBACK

Question 1: Your gut feeling about this plan?
Question 2: What would you prefer, someones home or a gaming cafe?
Question 3: How much does it cost per hour at your nearest gaming cafe (must have atleast 20pcs)
Question 4: Can you bring a console, controller, game, monitor?
Question 5: are you a graphics guy? can you make us a banner? and are you good with a camera? we might need you
Question 6: Should we keep it offline? i.e. separate winners for all cities or should it be online? please answer keeping in mind the answers to all the questions above.

games are totally up to what the participants wanna do! right now, im more interested in how we are gonna pull this off. im thinking about nominating a guy from each city to coordinate with the members. we need to look at what we got in terms of hardware and space before proceeding further.

I think it'll be hard for each champion to compete with the other across the country. Why not just name a COD4/Halo 3/ FIFA champion of each city and leave it there?

1. LETS DO IT!
2. Which ever can easily accommodate us all
3. Wired-up gaming charges 100 Rs/hour on Xbox 360. I heard they only have 2 of them. Whilst PC gaming Playdiums charge 100 Rs/3hours
4. I can bring my 360 if it gets fixed before the event.
5. No, but im good with the camera :p
6. I say offline.

1-man i think this is one sweet idea and given enough time this should flesh out real good.
2- i think a gaming cafe would be a much viable option.I mean its gonna be wierd at someone's place.
3-i guess its like 35/hr.But ill talk to my friend, maybe his acquaintance will give us a discount or something.
4-i have a ps3.
5-HELL NO. :D
6-i thin the original plan to pit the winners against each other was awesome but it's kinda idealistic and i'm sceptical about it working.

Oh and im gonna ask around friends i know in bahria because they keep on organizing gamong competitions and stuff...they have contacts because a lotta gaming cafes send their teams to play in them.

I think we should keep it LAN based. Taking it online over the whole country would seriously complicate things.

Booking a good gaming zone for a day is the easiest most feasible idea IMO. Only if USUF ain't the one doing the booking.

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
