The gentleman on the right is Vito Scaletta. Yup ;)
Mafia 2's protagonist ? THAT IS SICK!!!!!

The environment and the overall theme looks pretty neat. Although its pretty early to say but i think this time around they'll give a proper open world makeover to the mafia series.

Yea. Every game after 1997 is crap
2016 still looks one of the best gaming year

yaar developer har game ki aisi rerh lagadete hain to hum fans kia karain?? hum fans hain in k our hamare saath is tarah salook kia jaata hai. hardcore fans ko chor kar nawbie ko apeal kia jaata hai.

They ruined it. even mafia 2 looks better. it looks too easy and casual and story/characters looks like GTA.

So this might be a continuation, albeit not direct, of Mafia II. I honestly wasn't expecting this. Am shocked!

I hate to admit it, but I have to somewhat agree with what Counter6 is saying. The stuff that made the original Mafia pull your heart strings, and to a lesser extent in Mafia II, seems to be completely absent from this game. It seems too inspired from Vice City. And that can't be Vito, because Vito would be older than what Leo in Mafia II was (Mafia II was set in 1944-52 era).

Pretty much everything was lost in the process that made both the previous Mafia games so special. I'm gonna sit this one out

I'd wait for proper gameplay reveal before jumping to conclusions. Definitely not impressed with what was shown but I have my fingers crossed. Hopefully our reps at Gamescom can get us some exclusive footage. @NaNoW Muaaz

Looks good enough for a 40~45 year-old. Vito can't be much older than that. Leo (I'm assuming you're talking about Leo Galante) was 60-odd years old in Mafia II.

The game seems to have some soul to it, the narrative seems riveting but the few snippets of gameplay I have seen, can't say I am impressed.

Mafia 2 had pretty solid storyline to , I would have preferred a Irish setting or Jewish setting of ny rather than black setting , any ways the gameplay kinds sucks in this one , don't know which gas tanks these cars have , seems like cover shooting will be very easy if cars are gonna be around just hit 1-2 times and they will explode , these cover shootings are more suited to war games rather than gangster stuff , gangsters love to shoot straight , some cover looks nice
ike behind cars etc , but for every shoot out cover looks lame .

i hope the story is strong enough or else this game doesn't looks impressive

It's very early to predict anything but in my opinion Mafia 2 had a very realistic feel and a calm environment . That's mainly because the story was focused on a single character life . Mafia 3 storyline seems all over the place , the physics also look a little bit unrealistic . It's like a Sleeping Dogs title set in 60s era .

In the reveal I think they have showed hard and intense side of the game for the hype , I'm sure the game has soft side too like Mafia 2 had ...

Yup. I wasn't amused by the segment where they showed Lincoln stabbing a foe in the head in quick succession. The game isn't supposed to be that gory.

Daniel Vavra (lead writer for Mafia and Mafia II) isn't part of the team making Mafia III this time around. So we're not guaranteed a brilliant story, but I have high hopes nevertheless.
