Laptop not restarting or shutting down

[MENTION=3617]JAYZZY[/MENTION] yaar its a problem with the hibernation file becoming corrupt had the same problem on my lappy after upgrading to win 10 try disabling and then re-enabling hibernation mode it will fix the corrupt file. i did the same and my problem went away

just follow these steps

To make hibernation unavailable, follow these steps:

[*]Click [B]Start[/B], and then type cmd in the [B]Start Search[/B] box. 
[*]In the search results list, right-click [B]Command Prompt[/B], and then click [B]Run as Administrator[/B]. 
[*]When you are prompted by User Account Control, click [B]Continue[/B]. 
[*]At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate off, and then press Enter. 
[*]Type exit, and then press Enter to close the Command Prompt window.
