Although i do have a case on my iP5 and mine is untouched i know few people who got black iP5's and using them without the case since day 1! their phones look immaculate! this is the most stupid article you came up GSMA! we all know you get paid a lot from Samsung to bash other companies and praise their devices but this is crazy!

A close friend of mine has a black iphone 5 as well used in a cover throughout and YET it's sides have some chipping.

and lol its not the top comment it must have been the "newest" comment when you saw the article. The top comments are,

My iPhone 5 is still like new no scuff or marks of any kind after 6 months and it doesn't overheat and sucks battery like brand new gs4

The iPhone 5 is made with a level of precision you’d expect from a finely crafted watch, not a smartphone, says Apple’s marketing collateral. It ain’t just marketing talk. From these gorgeous shots to hands-on reports, everyone seems to agree that Apple has outdone itself with this year’s iPhone in terms of shininess and smoothness.

Samsung in public has been defending the quality of the plastic construction of its devices, but the company is said to be "worried" internally about its Galaxy line's build quality when compared against Apple's iPhone and HTC's One.

Let's get one thing straight, no one puts Apple in the corner for build quality. The Galaxy S4 is 7.9mm thick – a 0.3mm whisker thicker than the iPhone 5, and half a choccy bar heavier at 130g. The S4's plastic – sorry, polycarbonate – case, while sporting a few metal elements, can't match the iPhone 5's aluminium-and-glass gorgeousness, while its physical home button looks on the small side. Bluntly, the one area where the S3 was lacking was in its design and build – and the S4 doesn't do much to improve on it

From the oleophobic glass face and the smooth aluminum back to the matte metal bezel with polished chamfered edges, everything about the new iPhone screams high end. The pieces align perfectly, the parts are all snug, the lines are well thought out and elegant, the buttons do not wobble, and there are no rattles or creaks whatsoever. The iPhone 5 is truly amazing considering where Apple’s rivals at in terms of materials and build quality.

It was a bit disappointing when Samsung decided to build the Galaxy S4 out of plastic. The build quality is OK, but not nearly as good as the iPhone 5's all metal and glass design.

no matter how good quality the Aluminium is; its supposed to be for good looks not meant to be robust , the cheap plastic on galaxy phones doesnt get scratched easily plus the home buttons dieing on iphones is a matter of build quality too just google it and you will see what i mean , scratched iphone 5 out of sealed boxes , home button dieing withing few weeks , even sudden death due to no fault of user at all no wonder apple is losing their market share
