Sandybridge has been in the works since a while now and it was common knowledge even before the Nehalems (aka core-i) hit that market that sandybridge will be 1155. I think its slated to be released later this year, Q4 2010.

So chill even AMD is changing socket for its Bulldozer, nothing is future proof, new chip=high cost...so be good with what you got..Sandy bridge performance is 22-30% of previous generation (i-series).

wrt the link the upcomming processors will be amongst core i series.. do u guys really think that there will be no new processors in 1156 n 1366? and this core i series will be coming in 1155 n 2011 sockets? i mean if intel is planning new sockets then the new socket processors should have new names not that core i's...

I Can't See So Much different and Lots of betterment In These chips.....!!
almost same with minor diff.....whatever they are...LGA 1156 And 1366 Will still lead as new chips will be expensive and atleast wise users won't change their 1156 until or unless something much different will hit the market....!!
Its All INTEL's Policy To make money with samething again and again....!!

AMD Bulldozer is also on new socket although they are supporting old sockets by releasing some new processor but this will stop when they start producing new one.
