Joker no# 2

Magneto no# 1

Venom and Carnage no where in top 10????

i mean cmon..............

i m seriously beginning to hate IGN's crappy rating system :tpc:

I think they should rate it like:

Bottom Tier
Then names but no numbers

Middle Tier
Then names but no numbers

Top Tier
Then names but no numbers

While Joker is a great villain, Magneto on the other hand has fought the Marvel universe throughout, and his accomplidhments are not to be forgotten as well. He ripped the adamantium off logan, he eventually became Onslaught, He was the chief architect of "The House of M" which literally killed all the silver age Avengers, including Vision, Hawkeye, and even manipulated his daughter "Scarlet Witch"(arguably one of the most powerful mutants to rival even the Dark Phoenix, and ProfX) several times to do his bidding.

Also did you guys see him in Marvel Zombies, he was simply awesome, pity he was eaten completely and not zombiefied.

but still, he is a mutant with super powers, not to mention he also sports a tragic past but that's what makes him like all the other villains. Apocalypse and Galactus have faced the entire Marvelverse too, but it dosent matter how many adversaries you face to be the baddest of all baddies.

Joker on the other hand focuses solely on Batman and pretty much makes him the purpose of his existence. Plus he is utterly devoid of symphaty or empathy, nither does any blood bond weakens him unlike Magneto whose judgement often falters when it comes to his children quicksilver and scarlet witch.

Joker is simply evil incarnated. Magneto is just a melodramatic old man waging a war for his believes. Joker believes in nothing.

You are right, and I guess each guy has its own reasons to be a villain.

Galactus wasn't really a bad guy, he just had his hunger
Apocalypse is like (but not much) Dark Sied. He wants to rule this world and bring an end to Humanity.
Joker is evil incarnated, but he does believe he can break anything,or anyone including Batman, Superman, Flash, etc.
Magneto wants a world ruled by mutants, not because they are powerful but, cuz its their right.

I would like to point out that Magneto is more relatable to leaders in history and today. He was the Fidel Castro of Genosha, and his beliefs are pretty similar to ones living amongst us (So-Called-Jihadis, Democrats, Socialists, Communists, Evangelists, etc). he would do anything to get Mutants in power, just as our leaders sacrificed its people to unknown horrors. He would even use his children, or friends (Polaris) for his own evil purposes/designs. He unlike Doom doesn't even want that power.

thats it. magneto can be related to historical figures, one way or the other, Joker on the other hand, is simply unique. even his creator Bob kane kept his origins in shadows so that joker could emerge as embodiment of evil, sumthing that cannot be related to

and thats what makes him the best villian of all time

Pretty solid list, if i were nitpicking then here are a couple of things

-Joker should be #1, Magneto #2
-Apocalypse, Mr.Sinister, Sebastian Shaw should be higher
-Juggernaut is too high
-Doomsday should be higher
-Mysterio is way too low.

And people who think venom/carnage should be top 10....jeez. The only reason venom/carnage are popular are because of their great illustrations, but they have personality of a teapot. They are just giant goo balls, a great villain should have a great charismatic personality.

Doomsday is a complete joke. He's just a brute whose sole purpose is to destroy, he doesn't feel any real emotions nor any motivations.

The Joker, as of late hasn't shown anything big (apart from killing Alex Luthor, on request of Lex Luthor), while Maggie is responsible for "The House of M" which caused millions of Mutants either dead or powerless (including himself and ProfX). Not to mention alter reality as well (Onslaught, Colossus's to powerful siblings, etc are back). But he is destined to intervene in Osborn Plan to rule the Marvel universe (He's not part of the Cabal, and Doom wouldn't like Ozzy to have that much power.)

Nekron needs to be higher for instigating the Blackest night, and other events.
and so is Superboy-Prime for killing Superboy, Superman-Earth2, an Oa Guardian, and other Several Superheroes, not to mention alter reality/Multiverse

I get the feeling you guys are promoting joker, and doomsday not becuz of comics but cuz of the animated series.

doomsday i understand is just a flashy villain with a ravenous appetite. But joker is the real deal and dosent matter if he is not upto sumthing more diabolical lately as i believe that the age of comic books is coming to an end and these characters are making venues like games movies and animations their new arena.

but in terms of all time evil, the joker will always be up there.

not every villian is suppose to have a personality. there are villians that u just like to see pitted agaisnt your favourite heros whether its mojo jojo or venom.

beside, Carnage is a real nut case and venom does have a personality. it may not be eccentric like dr doom or joker but its there.

and i strongly believes that riddler could have made it into the list, but he was scratched out for no appranet reason. and Two face deserve a spot in top 5

Being Evil is not good enough, there are different types of evil, he's displayed only one of them. Also the Joker hasn't shown as much evil in the animated series either(except for the earlier 90's Batman series), Lex and Dark Sied on the other hand have demonstrated many forms of evil in several animated series.

But seriously, any reasons why? I have posted reasons for Maggie Noodles, whats yours for the Joker?

Make note I love the Joker, but I won't reveal it (reasons) after I have heard from some other members first.

i have a butt load of reasons to love joker but there aint non that has anything to do with the joker from the animated series, except the episode the man who killed batman. mark hamil does an excellent job as joker but its the joker from the comic books specially the dark knight returns and the killing joke where his multi layered evil nature shines, plus he is just as enigmatic.

believe me, i can talk about joker all dat long.

as for Lex, i like lex as a villian i admit, the guy really knows how to bring big blue down on his knees, but

dark sied?? he just remains in the shadows, use his agents and there aint much u get to see of him, even in the superman animated.
