Assalamoalaikum! I'm looking to build a PC under 250k PKR in Rawalpindi / Islamabad, Pakistan. I'm looking for a PC that has good performance, I do not care about aesthetics. It should be compatible with 165hz monitors.

Can you please suggest me shops to buy from, specs to go for and how much they would cost? This is including the monitor, which i need to buy under the range. The budget can also be stretched to 300k IF needed. Try to keep it under 250k PKR though please.

JazzakAllah.

What is the goal of building a PC: video editing, educational, digital marketing, content writing (work), gaming, etc.?

I have given a response here for video editing.

For gaming, PC is not a good value proposition anymore in Pakistan or anywhere in the world. In fact, it is down right foolish to try to build a PC for gaming, given the exorbitant prices of Nvidia and AMD gaming rigs.

You will lose a hell lot of money if you intend to use the PC solely for gaming purposes.

A gaming PC that can play the latest and future AAA graphics demanding games like RE4 Remake, Returnal, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of US Remake, Wo Long Dynasty, and others at decent settings (60FPS; 1440p or 4K resolution) without stuttering and crashes would require an investment of Rs. 7–9 lacs ($3000+) for a PC with 12+GB gaming rig. Better invest that money in gold and see your investment triple in Pakistan 5-6 years from now.

On the other hand, an old 8 GB gaming rig would cost half, but it is grossly inadequate to play recent graphically demanding games flawlessly.
Online reviews show that recent blockbuster games have stuttering issues and crashes frequently with cards having 8 GB or less VRAM.

Also, the NVIDIA gimmicks like DLSS3 and path tracing are scams that will literally fry up your gaming rigs. The DLSS3 in particular is a scam that results in fake frame insertion with gaming artifacts and other issues.

For a near flawless gaming experience, consoles (XBox and PS5) and even Steam Deck - cost Rs. 165 - 205k - are a far better value proposition.

For a flawless gaming experience with Ray tracing at 4K and 60 FPS without stuttering (sudden frame dips) and crashes in latest games - Returnal, Last of Us Remake Part I, etc. on PC, you will have to invest in a Rs. 9 lacs+ ($3000+) system.

But if you are OK with the slight stuttering and other issues in AAA titles, or you will mostly play older games, you can read my post here to buy a decent gaming rig in your budget.

Haha, totally agree! As a busy college student, I discovered a reliable online platform jpost.com where I could purchase pre-written essays on various topics. The essays were well-researched and helped me understand complex concepts better.

AOA. Sorry didn't get into details.
I saw you want a solid performing 165hz PC for 300K

My advice. Don't focus on perfection. No hardware can ever by 100% perfect unless you have money to burn *and even then there won't be 100& perfection.

Yes, I think you can but it depends on the titles. I'd say you can do 300K easily for a 165hz PC that plays AAA at 1080p. If you go as far as 2K things will need to stretch of frames will need to be compensated with. Don't look at 4K.
Honestly, I think 4K isn't worth the price. The quality is not a massive leap for a human eye than 2K (although in theory, it is)

Advice:
Build a NEW PC having 13th gen 13400f processor and motherboard with DDR4 16-32GB Rams,
1 TB NVME WD SN570. New 700Watts PSU. Normal Gaming case (fancy won't give you any performance)

You can find a used 3060Ti or 3070/Ti in good condition

For display, I'd say find a used 144Hz 24 or (if budget allows) 27inch monitor or curved (if budget further allows)

Focus on NEW Processor, Motherboard, SSD and PSU. Rest you can buy used (new is an investment, you don't need to upgrade these in about 4-5 years hopefully)

Happy gaming. Hope this helps i'A

Also remember, the Hz on your monitor will be useless if the FPS in games doesn't match that HZ.
i.e for 144Hz you need to have the game running at 144FPS which means having serious hardware or compromising/optimizing game's graphics

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
