Aha! I always did wonder what motivation all these uploaders on torrent sites and file hosting sites have for putting out all these movies, TV shows and games for mass pirated downloads. It's MONEY, of course! The process sounds like something that you can't get the hang of simply by reading a guide, even if it is extensive. This thing can only be done by those with great dedication...me?
Since I'm located in Pakistan, I cannot be a top level peddler of pirated stuff originating abroad. The ones truly making the most money from piracy are those who manage to get 'cam' prints of movies on their release dates by sneaking in camera's or bribing cinema staff to bring in cameras, then recording the films and releasing them on file sites for mass download. All of us Pakistanis would have to rely on finding links which are already out there in order to re-upload them.
Even if I was a hacker, I wouldn't get my hands on an original game the date it is released in the US/Japan, so I wouldn't be able to be among the first to put out game torrents or upload them to file sites.
As for piracy itself...if I download something illegally which I truly like, I always buy a legit copy of it. I think many people do support creators of anything they like by buying legit stuff eventually.
