How to connect Zong 4G device to WiFi extender?

So I have been using Zong 4G for the last few days on my computer through USB and I think I am finally ready to rid myself of PTCL. I tested it for stability and not a single disconnection in 24 hours in my room. I will just have to accept a cap of 200GB which is a little unfortunate but not impossible to live with. The ping is also very much acceptable when plugged directly in a PC.

But the one real problem with it is that it's WiFi strength is miserable which won't go well with other members of the house. The device has no ethernet port so how am I supposed to connect it to a WiFi extender?

Is it the MiFi or the Wingle?

If it's the latter, the only solution I can think of is to get it replaced with the Zong 'FiberHome' router, OR get a cheap TPLink router, get a custom firmware installed on it, and then use that to extend your wireless coverage.

It is an old device btw I borrowed it from my friend to test Zong internet. I would be going to purchase my own in a few days which will presumably be a newer version so I dunno if that would make a difference.

I do have a D-Link WiFi extender btw but it doesn't have a USB connection so I have no idea how it can be used here.

You don't need a USB cable to extend coverage anyway. Turn the MiFi on, plug in the extender in a suitable location, run the setup wizard, have it broadcast the same SSID with the same security settings and you'll be good to go.

Got this device from Zong franchise for 4.5k. WiFi strength is similar to the device provided from PTCL. Will be getting my PTCL line disconnected on monday, finally rid of the evil.

I got 150GB for Rs. 3800 and it can be reloaded at anytime if I run out of it before 30 days. Was paying 7k for PTCL 16MB so even if I run out of data in 20 days it's still a cheaper option. And of course no Youtube or any other throttling. I can stream YouTube 1080p without a hitch. Even when my PTCL connection was running completely fine YouTube and Facebook were almost always throttled.

Should've complained about your PTCL line to PTA.

I have 20 Mbps GPON and I couldn't be happier. With SmartTV as well the interner never drops below 17 Mbps.
I'm considering upgrading to 30 once I test this a bit more. Have only used it for a few days.

I was just tried of it man. My last problem took 2 weeks to solve and then only 10 days later it happens again. Not only is the attitude of PTCL employees abysmal but they are incredibly incompetent as well.

I was also happy with GPON for quite a while but throttling at peak hours always happened. I tolerated it because I always got full torrent speed and stable connection. Now even that is no more the case so the point of having unlimited fiber is kind of mitigated.

Nobody is happy with PTCL GPON in my area. It all goes well for a while but when you encounter your first ever problem with PTCL then you realize what a complete shit company it is. As long as I have other reasonable options I am never going to have anything to do with this company again.

Btw try streaming 1080p YouTube in the afternoon, I'll like to know if you experience throttling.

I complained about HD YouTube streaming at PTCL exchange and the guy says you can't expect HD all the time. I was like ya no shit 16MB connection to mazak main liya hai maina.

Another comical interaction. PTCL technician comes to my home and I ask kai bhai kya maslai hain yay? This was his response,

"Sir mera ghar main khud theek nai chal raha internet". 😂

mein ne ptcl walay se baat ki aur bola i am not getting my upstream , it should be 1024kbps on 4mb connection. So he said bhai ptcl walon ne half kardi hai ab. i said wtf mujhay half se bhi kam milrahi hai 250kbps. Phir jab wahi banda check karne aya to phone dead tha. and when it got fixed, i was getting the same 1024kbps. Ptcl is filled up with liars, mujhay khud sharam arahi thi jb wohi banda aya check karne.. MashaAllah itni bari bear thi aur jhoot bolne mein zara c bhi sharam nhi ai usko.

Only adaptor option as far as I know. Not a problem for me since I have it plugged in into a UPS.
