I'm selling my HD449 barely used for nearly half that price :p

HD439 I'm assuming are a little worse than 449. I think the JVC RX900 are better.
Make the price exactly half and I'll buy them in an instant :wink2:

The reason I prefer HD439 over 449 is because they have more Bass which 449 seem to lack. Although 449 do seem to have more clarity. The other reason for preferring 439 is detachable cord. HD439 seems to have more positive reviews compared to 449

I haven't used the 439 but from the specs it looks as if the bass on 449 is slightly better. Frequency response of 17-22500 Hz for 439 and 16-24,000 Hz for 449.

^ I was actually considering HD449 at first. But then I read the reviews on many sites and 439 seems to be the preferred version despite both of them costing the same (internationally as well as locally). Detachable cord is also a big attraction for me.

I would appreciate if you could share your personal experience with HD449. Do you find the Bass lacking? How is the overall audio quality, particularly in comparison with JVC RX700 and 900?

I quite like the HD449. They've got a 'natural' soundscape. The only reason I'm selling mine are because I'm looking for in ear monitors. Sorry I haven't used the RX700 and RX900. And honestly though you shouldn't expect big booming bass from any of these headphones. It's simple math, you need big drivers to push a lot of air for deep bass and all these headphones come with your run-of-the-mill 40mm drivers

40mm doesn't necessarily mean less bass. Sony MDR-XB500 is a good example of 40mm drivers with plenty of bass.

To be fair I'm not somebody who wants extra bass. I just want these for games and movies as I hardly listen to any music. That's why I think headphones which are slightly better at bass would be better for my personal usage compared to the ones which have more sound clarity. And compared to the headphones I currently have I'm pretty sure I'll like whichever ones I buy (Sony MDR-XD200, Razer Carcharias)

Amp the HD449 a bit and you will definitely feel a difference in the bass department. I would advise you to get the HD449, I really like their sound stage and clarity compared to the other models. The bass is there but it's a bit laid back and lacking. The don't have punchy bass but the sound clarity makes up for it. If you really want some very good headphones that pack ample amount of bass, look no further than the Creative Aurvana Live, homeshopping is selling them, but at a expensive price tag.

Its not about the size of the drivers. Open backed headphones just aren't suited to big, boomy bass. They're more for a clear, balanced sound signature with a wide soundstage. That, and the Senns and JVCs aren't really tuned to satisfy bassheads.

no man that is wrong... sony xb500 is 40mm and has more bass than my 70mm xb1000... infact, they have the most powerful bass in the world compared to any headphones... and if you amp them for bass then they will crush your skull... i actually damaged my left ear a bit and got tinitus for 3 months in just two days of listening... you feel the bass rather than hear it with them..

JVC Extreme Explosives (used)? To get or not to get?

Basically, I'm looking for new earphones, this time preferrably that sounds better than JVC FX35. Used them a lot and got a lot out of that but it's time I dished some dough and got something that sounds better.

Best *earphone* options within 2000? Love bass, but nothign I can't do without.

I going to buy the above mentioned headphones after my OMX185 broke down. It has quite good reviews but there's no mention of build quality in any of those reviews. I am really concerned about this as Sennheiser turned out to be really shitty even though they were hell expensive.

Beta 22 Build

Hello all

First post! Here's my Beta22 build that I made a few weeks ago. Everything was done myself. I got the chassis off a pathan who let it go for Rs. 1500 or so. This is a two channel passive build - no active ground and no balanced. I use these with my HD650. The PSU (a Sigma 22) is housed into the same chassis - though this is not the preferred way to do it, I can hear no hum or buzz in the headphones so it's a non-issue for me. You can see massive heatsinks I used - this thing produces quite a bit of heat. The heatsinks go upto a temperature of 46C. The transformer is a custom made by SumR. The great thing about DIY is you can scale it however you want. This isn't the prettiest Beta 22 in the world but it packs a punch for the amount spent! I am glad I didn't go overboard with a balanced rig etc. My ears aren't good enough to hear the difference.

First listen after building both channels.

Getting ready to house the boards in an enclosure.

Secured in the enclosure. You can also see the transformer and the PSU.

Temperature test inside enclosure.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
