GPU Repair Shop..

I just got ATI SAPPHIRE HD 6950 TOXIC 2GB GDDR5 from Sweden (uncle brought to me) but my all excitement was perished when i inserted in PC n it gave me no display,,,,,,
GPU is Brand new but some shit happened during transportation,,,i cant replace it as Uncle didn't give me any warranty card....Please help me to make it run..any GPU repair shop in Lahore etc????

Here is the thing ... you CAN send the GPU to repair through different importers available in Lahore, Hafeez Center ... but there is no guarantee it'll repair 100% as it has another 50% chances of getting busted AGAIN.

I dont recommend repairing a GPU while you live in Pakistan, as it costs hell i.e. Rs.5k and there is no warranty of it either.

Plus ... companies sometimes change the Heatsink of your GPU without telling you, and replace it with a shitty Heatsink. Common incase you own some "Super Overclocked Edition" or whatever.

Anyways ... You sure you are metting all the requirements for the GPU? I mean better PSU etc?

As abobilly has mentioned, you are meeting all standard requirements for your GPU ?

I am quiet hopeful for your sake that its a PSU issue and not your GPU.
Test your card on another system to be on the safe side though.

Too little power normally fries your gpu so be sure that your PSU is up the mark.

Well...Antec Trio 650 Watt having 59amps,,i think it can run any good GPU....i have personally tried 5870 & 560GTX...all were f9...

There's no way to repair a faulty GPU just like that unless the specific fault includes a common capacitor, resistor or transistor which is easily available in the local market.....otherwise there's no chance.
The part's needed even for repairing isn't found here in pakistan, so when its fried, then its gone for good.

I remember my friend giving a his 8600GTS for repair, when he got it back and installed it and turned the PC on, it caught fire lol......

It can be checked using a Multimeter but again, hard to say that where would the fault lie.

I assume you mean "IN PAKISTAN".
Yes there is no way to Repair the GPUs in PAKISTAN. But its not IMPOSSIBLE.

GPUs are sent outside of Pakistan (to Malaysia, i just know one location), directly to Companies/Manufacturers who repair them.

Some people will try to convince you like "Bhai Karachi main bohat bari market hay jo Xbox360s Repair Karti hay, and that they CAN repair it wagera wagera". Dont belive it because its not possible here.

No Ordinary person like us (living in Pakistan can do that). Only the people in companies would be able to point out the exact fault ... probably because they have the right tools AND the right map (PCB design) for the job.

If you really want to repair your GPU then you should send it abroad back to your Uncle and ask him if he can find a way to repair it.
It would be easier while living abroad ... well thats what i think.

I heard some1 said Galaxy Don't ever think of going to them, they simply wash the GPU with thinner and if it works charge u like 2K, I've been gone through that when my cousins GPU got faulty he had the display but during the games the GPU runs hardly for 15 mins and restarts the system. Still they couldn't fix the issue and finally withdrawn the charges from them.

I would totally second abobilly's opinion on that send it back if its in warranty/new
