Control and Death Stranding lead the nominations for the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' 23rd annual DICE Awards, which will be handed out at a ceremony that will cap off the week-long DICE Summit in February.
(DICE, by the way, stands for Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain. Because I'm sure at least a few of you are curious.)
If those headliners sound oddly familiar, it's likely because Control and Death Stranding are also leading the nominations for the Game Developers Choice Awards, which were announced last week. They're popular games!

DICE awards are out. It doesn't look like there are enough GoTY's left to change the standings now.

Looks like this is the final 2019 results:

Popular vote GoTY: Death Stranding
"Critic certified" GoTY: Resident Evil 2


All in all pleased with both results. Death Stranding is a wholly unique experience but glad it got rewarded with as many GoTY awards as it did.

2019 was a good year for all it seems. Kojima, FROM, Remedy, Capcom all had their highest GoTY scoring games till date.

Easy Allies is really old, the other 2 are new but the popular vote is so far along that Sekiro can win 20 more and it still won't be in the top 2, lol.

Death Stranding is still leading the "Popular choice" RE2 is still leading in the "MC certified list".

lol the fact that a site like WCCFtech gets considered makes the Metacritic certified list just as redundant as the GOTY blog list.

The cumulative pick from the DICE, GDC, and BAFTA awards is the true GoTY as far as I'm concerned. Therefore, so far, Untitled Goose game is the winner.

Its anybody's guess which awards will be regarded in "high esteem" to fit one's own agenda in the future. Seems like BAFTA is back in the mix for now as well :hah:
