Actually, it's my sister's mobile. I upgraded it to ICS from GB and she did not like it one bit. It lags a lot, hangs and battery timing has also decreased. That's why I was thinking of degrading back to GB but she wants me to flash a ICS rom. BTW, she bought it from United Mobile, so yes it has warranty.

I dont think u can downgrade to GB after upgrading to ICS without unlocking bootloader...

But yes there is a method in which u can unlock bootloader without loosing warranty... Its via s1tool called Test point method... you can always relock bootloader with that method again...

I am just wondering if you dont have guts to unlock bootlloader via Official method then how come u will unlock via test point method coz thats not so easy.....^_^

Yes you can install any ROM out there if you unlock via Test point method... even with official unlock u can do it but the problem with official unlock method is that you cant use SEUS to update the ROM for future updates.. u will have to use Flashtool... there is no difference between flashtool and SEUS...

Just do a factory reset and you will be fine.

just got xperia mini pro , my first android and its battery backup has really impressed me charged on frida night and its still having some uice left , but should i upgrade it to ics or gingerbread is fine ? means any bugs in ICS or lower battry backup? and also suggest some must have apps for droids , i have installed mx player, temple run and skype using droid explorerr on pc any other way of instaling? (not app store , i dnt have wifi here)

Don't upgrade to ICS, Sony did a bad job on ICS. GB is a lot better on Sony phones. Search for mobilisim forum on google and download the app and sd data from there of different apps/games.

Sirf sony ka ICS nai aur be hen. He can install a custom rom based on ICS. GB is old now .

I was actually talking about Sony's official ICS stock rom, it's not good. Obviously, custom roms are the way to go.

Thought to post in this thread rather than making a new one. My friend got an S i9000 which is already on some Devil Kernel (Shows on boot up) and Android 4.0.4 installed (Shows in the phone detail).
He wants it default and I am the person who has to do the job. Can you please guide me as to how I should remove the existing kernel and rom and install the default one in it?

He wants it default and I am the person who has to do the job. Can you please guide me as to how I should remove the existing kernel and rom and install the default one in it?

1. Make up backup of everything.
2. Download any STOCK ROM from here: [ROM/KERNEL/MODEM] GT-I9000 - Latest Stock Firmwares - Direct Links - Torrents - xda-developers, the region choosing depends on you.
3. Download ODIN;http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach...bbabf06a/50202e13/5/8/1/9/1/3/Odin3-v1.85.zip
4. Go into recovery mode; Power off the phone, Press and hold: VOLUME UP + HOME KEY + POWER button until it boots into recovery mode.
5. When into recovery mode, you may see many options (these options depend on the kernel etc)
6. Find and select these: a. Wipe Data/Factory Reset b. Wipe Cache c. Wipe Dalvik Cache.
7. Now power off the phone again.
8. Go into download mode now; When the phone is powered off, Press and hold: VOLUME DOWN + HOME KEY + POWER button until it boots into download mode.

10. Make Sure KIES isn't running in the background, use TASK MANAGER to kill it completely.
11. Start ODIN.
12. Connect the I9000 whilst in the DOWNLOAD mode.

14. DO NOT TOUCH ANY SETTINGS ON ODIN OTHERWISE YOU CAN HARD BRICK THE PHONE ! DO NOT TOUCH PIT BUTTON AT ALL !
15. Now CLICK on the PDA button and select the STOCK ROM that you downloaded. If it is not showing up in the dialog box, then try to extract the downloaded file until you get a .tar or .md5 file.
16. After selecting it, press START and wait till the phone completely boots up.
17. Disconnect the cable.
18. You now have a stock ROM flashed on your I9000, congratulations.
