Nooo. Metal hai with plastic. The display is framed with metal.
The construction is aluminum unibody. All of it. The aluminum forms a single piece around the phone. The two panels that aren't part of the unibody enclosure are the battery cover (which is coated with teflon) and the antenna cover at the bottom (again, teflon).
Here are some pictures with the Nexus S. My apologies for the shitty compression.
You know it doesn't matter whether you get AMOLED version or SLCD version. You are gonna dislike both of them
AMOLED isn't gonna be as good as S-AMOLED of your Galaxy S and SLCD isn't gonna be as good as Retina display of your iPod touch. You are gonna remain disappointed in either case.
I beg to differ.
The SLCD offering has better viewing angles than the iPod Touch Retina Display. AMOLED and SAMOLED look the same, except for the glass that's present on AMOLED screens as an additional layer, hindering sunlight legibility.
The iPod has much warmer colours than the SLCD, which is already very warm looking in comparison to SAMOLED and AMOLED. He's going to be fine with AMOLED with nary a problem and can settle for SLCD as it isn't that bad.
Here are some pictures.
I still maintain that the Nexus One is an expensive looking gadget that feels better in the hand than the Nexus S, however bland and drab the colour scheme is in comparison. It isn't as gaudy and reflective and looks more mature, and better after you've laid your fingers on it and it still manages to retain the cleanliness instead of attracting oily prints. The Nexus S looks like a pancake to me, but has a better colour scheme. I don't even mind the colour on the Nexus One, but to each his own.

I'm gonna buy another android fone tomorrow n need help deciding in what to go for b/w Nexus S n Desire S. I need good screen, video calling (gtalk, skype, etc), flash support n of course root access.
All of the above has inclined me towards Nexus S but the the HTC one has it's plus with more RAM n expandable memory, sense, better construction n the fact that Nexus S looks so much like previously used Galaxy S!
So what should I go for?? :juggle:
The Desire S is a pain in the ass to root. If you were used to custom ROMs and mods on the Galaxy S then purchase a Nexus S. You'll miss the 720p recording but the build quality overall is significantly better. And since you're looking for a good screen and it's unlikely you'd like a smaller screen with less vibrant colours, the Nexus S SAMOLED is a better option - being similar to the Galaxy S unit.
