UPlay is required either way so if I were to ever buy a Ubisoft game I'd get it directly on Uplay.

Wow what a shitshow... Every one want a piece of that higher margin and are jumping ship. Meanwhile the epic store is so bad it resetted my Subnautica download at least 10 times...in the end I just gave up and haven't bothered with Epic store ever since

[h=1]Epic Games Store now has a refund policy matching Steam’s[/h]

[h=2]Two weeks from purchase and less than two hours played, get your money back for any reason[/h]

The Epic Games Store has updated its refund policy to one matching the terms of the Steammarketplace, providing for unconditional refunds of games within two weeks of purchase and less than two hours played.
The news came this morning on Twitter from Sergey Galyonkin, Epic’s director of publishing strategy. For pre-ordered games, the return window is until 14 days after the game’s launch date. Both the two-week timeframe and two-hour trial period are features of Valve’s return policy, which it implemented in June 2015.
Galyonkin said Epic is in the process of developing a self-service form for filing and receiving refunds. For now, players who want their money back will have to open a ticket with Epic Games support.
Further down the Twitter thread in which he announced this, Galyonkin said that the Epic Games store will one day add user reviews. However, developers will have to opt-in to having reviews of their products on the storefront. “Plus we want to have a solution against review-bombing,” he added.
The store, which launched in December, now supports a total of 130 countries in 30 different regions for regional pricing, Galyonkin said. The process of adding regional currencies and listing games according to local prices will take some time, according to him; for now, they are being sold in dollars.
The refund change is not related to, but does follow the Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina doling out an F rating for the Fortnitemaker, based on scores of unanswered complaints lodged with the bureau. Most of those complaints involved unauthorized or improper charges, and poor response to customers resolving their accounts.
The BBB said Epic had received 279 total complaints in 2018, 247 of which had gone unanswered. A news release noted that Epic did not respond to the BBB’s request for its side of the story here.
The Epic Games Store is just two months old, but it’s swiftly spinning up as a competitor to Steam, which has dominated the PC digital market for more than a decade. Epic Games started by offering a more favorable rate to developers — 88 percent for them, as opposed to the 70 percent they get on Steam. And earlier this week, Ubisoft announced that March 15’sTom Clancy’s The Division 2 will launch for Windows PC on UPlay and the Epic Games Store, skipping Steam entirely.

Hey do you guys like "competition" ?

Well guess what .. Epic is making sure there is none.

Division 2 will not be allowed to be sold on third party retail sites like GMG etc after the 15th.

https://uk.gamesplanet.com/game/tom-clancy-s-the-division-2-uplay--3777-1

Hey Community!

Sadly we have to announce you that Ubisoft will not allow digital third party stores, such as Gamesplanet, to sell Division 2 after its release on March 15th 2019. After this date, the game will digitally only be available through Ubisoft's Store and another exclusive digital store. This will also be true for all upcoming game content such as Season Pass, Extensions, etc.
Take the opportunity to buy at Gamesplanet until March 15th 2019 and make use of the paysafecard promotion as this will be available until the game will be pulled from our stores.

We won't be able to solve some support requests (e.g. key activated on the wrong Ubisoft account) after March 15th, as we won't have any more keys to exchange/swap. Please address your support requests to Ubisoft directly for such cases.

Worry not, all purchases that have been completed on Gamesplanet will be honoured. This is also true for gifts, no matter if these have been picked up or not.

Obviously, we are not happy about this decision.

The Gamesplanet Team

[h=1]Epic Games Store exclusive Metro Exodus outsells previous game on Steam at launch[/h]
[h=2]Epic is making the case for Epic Games Store exclusives[/h]

4A Games/Deep SilverThe Epic Games Store is off to a promising start.
Steve Allison, head of the Epic Games Store, shared some download and sales data during a presentation at the 2019 Game Developers Conference, noting that users downloaded the free games Subnautica and Slime Rancher 4.5 million times in two weeks. But the real news comes from the launch of Metro Exodus, an Epic Games Store exclusive.
Metro Exodus has sold two and a half times more copies on the Epic Games Store than Metro Last Light sold in the same amount of time on Steam. This proves, according to Allison, that “it’s really about your game, not so much about the store [you sell it on].”
Not only are the sales larger, but Metro publisher Deep Silver will keep more of the revenue. The Epic Games Store takes 12 percent of the revenue from game sales, while Steam takes 30 percent of the revenue for the first $10 million in sales, after which Valve’s cut drops to 25 percent, and then down further to 20 percent after $50 million in sales.
Metro Exodus also runs on Unreal Engine 4, which means that the engine licensing fees will come out of Epic’s 12 percent cut instead of being added on top of Steam’s 30 percent revenue share.

Epic GamesThe higher sales are only part of the story, as Deep Silver will keep a much higher percentage of the money coming in from the release on the Epic Games Store compared to the revenue it would have made on Steam.
“The Epic Games Store will make many hundreds of millions of dollars for developers this year,” Allison said during the presentation.
[h=2]WHAT DO THE EPIC GAME STORE NUMBERS MEAN?[/h]The message Epic Games would like to get out is that you can make a whole lot of money on the Epic Games Store, even if many fans expressed their anger over the game’s exclusivity online. But Metro Exodus is also just one game, and without hard numbers it’s trickier to tell if this is anything close to an apples-to-apples comparison.
Still, the message is there: There are a lot of players on the Epic Games Store, and they like to buy games through the service. Good stuff.
Meanwhile, Steam remains absolutely massive, with 47 million daily active users and 90 million monthly active users, according to a blog post from January of this year.

Steam is still absolutely massive ValveEpic’s message is that its store can sell games, but it’s hard to argue with Steam’s continued market dominance. That may matter less due to the larger amount of revenue that Epic gives to developers and publishers, but Steam’s head start in growing a gigantic user base is going to be a hard advantage for anyone to fight for some time.

Exclusives will help, which is why the success of Megro is so important for Epic to share. Even if you bring your games to the Epic Games Store, and nowhere else, you can sell more copies and keep more of the money. The size advantage of Steam doesn’t matter, what matters is how much money each individual company can make with the Epic Games Store.
We’ll see how many developers and publishers listen.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
