Well met, Arisens! Here, have some awesome news:

As of January 2016, the epic fantasy action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be available on Windows PC for $29.99 / € 29.99 / £ 24.99, with full Steam platform support. Huzzah!
In case you missed it on console, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is an awesome, inspired, sprawling fantasy game set in an open world, where players create their own unique character and supporting, AI-controlled characters known as Pawns, which can be “rented” and shared online by other players. Battle giant mythical beasts, master a variety of distinct vocations, and explore atmospheric dungeons to uncover endless items and loot.

The PC version will feature stunningly high-res graphics and improved fidelity, as well as support for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers, as well as a traditional keyboard and mouse control scheme. - Source

Good, now I can finally give this another chance with a stable framerate and hopefully remappable controls. Hype!

Karachi.
I've heard much about this game. I'll see first hand what all the hype was about. From what I've seen in the videos on YT, the game looks like an easy version of a far less gloomy Dark Souls. I hope it looks graphically much better than the videos I saw.

DD's a more traditional RPG than Dark Souls. The only comparison is the camera angle, accurate hitbox detection, and some of the UI. There are some things about the game that I didn't like.

Like how you can only have one load file (no multiple toons to play around with at once), level based damage thresholds (throwing toothpicks at lvl 12, unleashing the Gate of Babylon at lvl 14), multiple kinds of different items that aren't even different in potency (carry more grass than a hood rat), horrible quest system (get locked out of being able to complete quests for doing random shit or progressing the story), and such.

These might be minor issues but they ate at me all throughout my playthrough until I just stopped playing. But hey, I put quite a few hours into it. So it's not all bad.

Never got around to completing it either.... for much of the same reasons highlighted by TCG... the combat system was nice, but i really didnt care for the pawn system.... first off, they looked fucking horrible.... secondly, their AI wasnt that great... i remember going down to some dungeon or some shit and the enemies there were weak to light.... so i equipped my pawn with light spells, and that fucker didnt use that spell once in the entire duration of that fucking dungeon.... so yeah, some really strong aspects, and others not worth mentioning.... a real 50-50 game

easy no..less gloomy sort of. While Dark Souls build its own mythology with messed up creatures and all, this goes to the more traditional types of enemies. Ogres, goblins, bandits etc. As for graphics, im pretty sure the max they will do is upscale the resolution while all the other assets remain the same. Japanese devs cant port worth shit on PC

I feel like it should be cheaper. I got DD: DA for like $35 when it came out. It's been 2 years since then.

Gravity is a pretty troubling foe, the pawn wasn't wrong.
This is one of those games that likes to believe "Time spent in the air" = Falling. So be careful trying to climb awkward geometry to save time, you'll get stuck in mid-air and then you're fucked. Also, the edge of every cliff has been seasoned with grapeseed oil.

It is cute to see people getting excited here on PG for this late port. I mean I was the one who defended this game to death back when it was released, which it received a lot of criticism here :p.

It is definitely one of my most favorite Action RPG from last generation. I am really happy it is finally getting a proper release on PC since I would love to return to it in 1080p and 60 fps. I won't hesitate in getting it on PS4 too. Hopefully it can be released there too leading to DD 2 on PC, PS4 and XBO.

BTW, i started Ghost of Tsushima, and it got me hooked within the first couple of minutes. I already know It's gonna be a memorable experience. This is how you make a proper Samurai game. Not that SJW game Ubisoft is making.

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

It is indeed the worst generation by far.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
