Method 1 (explained):
Your phone is on LP 5.0.1, you downloaded a KK firmware, you flash it with Odin, it gives a 'PASS' message.
Phone doesn't boot up at all, or takes very long to boot.
You go into recovery, do a factory reset and wipe cache. After rebooting, phone has no IMEI and obviously wont connect to a network.
You need to extract the modem (or download one separately) for your phone, re-flash it through Odin (twice), reboot your phone.
IMEI should be back, if it isn't, flash back to LP, if it still isn't back, well then you're screwed cause your EFS is fucked.
Method 2 (explained):
Same scenario. However, after flashing in Odin, it shows 'FAIL' message and the log shows:
FAIL (SIZE) ext4
Your phone shows an error in red font in download mode.
Unplug the phone, press the reset button in Odin, add the correct .pit file for your phone (16GB for 16GB phone and 32GB for 32GB variant, don't mix them up), reconnect the phone, press Start.
It will take a few seconds and flash successfully.
Pull the battery (or if it's non-removeable), then hold the power button and then use the Recovery mode button combo (Power + Volume Up), wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
Reboot system now, wait for the phone to boot up, and you have successfully downgraded.
NOTE: I haven't tested these on a Note 4. They may or may not work.
Method 1 has been tested on a Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) and Method 2 on a Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F).
Method 1 has low chances of working, however Method 2 may work on a Note 4.
Good luck downgrading.
